疫情肆虐，曼校戰(zhàn)“疫”舉措共創(chuàng)時(shí)艱

　　Wherever you are, we hope you are all well and enjoying a lovely Lunar New Year holiday with family. No doubt you have been keeping a close eye on the coronavirus epidemic which has triggered the most stringent emergency response in many provinces.

　　At Merchiston International School, the very highest level of cooperation and effort has also been put into protecting our community from the coronavirus outbreak. As MIS will remain closed until Monday 17 February, ALT is instructing its teaching teams to prepare online learning, and the system is now ready. At the same time, all measures are under way to ensure your health and safety when you return to campus.

　　1 MIS Opening Date

　　MIS will remain closed until Monday 17 February when lessons will begin again. All boarding students must return to campus between 4-6pm on Sunday 16 February.

　　曼校將保持關(guān)閉直至2月17日(周一)，正式開課。所有的寄宿學(xué)生必須在2月16日(周日)下午4點(diǎn)-6點(diǎn)期間返校。

　　On Saturday 15 February key staff personnel will be in school to prepare with appropriate measures for the return of students on Sunday.

　　Meantime, our advertised 7 February Friday tour is postponed meantime, as are our other school community events until further notice.

　　2 MIS Online Learning

　　Our online teaching begins on Wednesday 5 February. Students should prepare for their daily lessons in advance. Daily learning at home should be effective and should be monitored.

　　線上課堂將于2月5日(周三)向?qū)W生開放，每日學(xué)業(yè)任務(wù)需在監(jiān)督之下高效完成。學(xué)生需提前做好準(zhǔn)備，迎接即將開展的日常學(xué)習(xí)。

　　For Juniors, the subjects include Maths, English (various aspects), IPC and Mandarin each day. The tasks will come in different formats and will depend on the age and stage of the child. Some maybe online and some may require writing or creating in hard copy. Parents will receive instructions via email from their child's class teacher.

　　小學(xué)階段，線上課堂每天設(shè)置了數(shù)學(xué)、英語(yǔ)(各方面)、IPC和語(yǔ)文課程。這些課業(yè)任務(wù)將以豐富多彩的教學(xué)形式呈現(xiàn)，具體視孩子的年齡和年級(jí)而變化。例如有些需在線完成，有些則需要手寫或進(jìn)行紙質(zhì)創(chuàng)作。家長(zhǎng)會(huì)收到班主任老師發(fā)出的詳細(xì)說明郵件。

　　For Seniors, Teams is the most effective way to engage with the work during this time. Students can access and complete their work in their browser. A Teams group for each class has been set up to provide student study materials for each missed lesson. Students can login with school email address and password (If you have forgotten your Office 365 login, please contact the IT Department for support at itsupport@merchiston.cn).

　　Parents: During the extended leave how will the teaching team arrange online learning?

　　MIS: Juniors will be advised to use ClassDojo and Seniors will be required to use Office 365 and Teams to keep learning and communication.

　　ClassDojo and Teams are two online communication and learning software applications widely used in international schools. ClassDojo provides a wealth of online learning content, as well as interactive ways to provide students, parents and schools with good online communication. Teams has capabilities for online sharing, online meeting, and online communication that ensure students can take online classes and communicate with their teachers and classmates from their home.

　　曼校：小學(xué)要求使用ClassDojo，而中學(xué)要求使用Office 365 以及 Teams來保持學(xué)習(xí)和與教師的溝通。

　　MIS: Students and teachers whilst at MIS use the supported ClassDojo and Teams applications. These links will be sent directly to parents.

　　The coronavirus pandemic may cause some anxiety to students. At MIS our onsite school counsellor Ms McCann will be available via direct messaging on Teams.

　　During the Chinese New Year holiday MIS set up emergency groups to ensure smooth communication.

　　② Campus disinfection 校園消毒

　　During the holiday support staff ensured the campus was clean and sterile. Campus ventilation has been increased to improve the natural air circulation.

　　假期期間，后勤人員確保校園干凈、無(wú)菌。增加了校園通風(fēng)，改善了自然空氣循環(huán)。

　?、?Temperature Screening 體溫檢查

　　School access points are strictly controlled, with onsite staff and support workers being temperature checked. When the campus re-opens to the students and teacher team further stringent measures will be implemented to ensure the safety of all our MIS family and visitors.

　　In accordance with the strict bureau guidance, MIS contacted all students, teachers and staff reporting their whereabouts and well-being.
