Dear Families,

親愛(ài)的各位家長(zhǎng)，

It is wonderful to welcome new students to RDFIS with our students who returned to school this past week. From many reports, the students and teachers enjoyed happy and restful Christmas breaks. The campus was quiet while they were away, except during spring cleaning and infrastructure upgrades. We love to see the students and teachers return; our school campus becomes alive with joy and learning!

我們滿懷歡喜地迎接春季新生入讀RDFIS，我們的老生也已經(jīng)于上周重返校園。我觀察到學(xué)生和老師們都度過(guò)了一個(gè)非常快樂(lè)且安逸的圣誕節(jié)假期。當(dāng)他們不在學(xué)校時(shí)，除了期間的大掃除和基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施升級(jí)，校園內(nèi)大部分時(shí)間都異常安寧。我們熱切歡迎學(xué)生和老師們返校，他們讓校園充滿了歡樂(lè)和活力!

Also a highlight, seven alumni students returned to RDFIS from the class of 2019—Henry Wu, Felix Wu, Berton Huang, Vincent Zhao, Cyrus Wang, Alan Chen—for a brief Winter visit. The alumni visited schoolmates and teachers, and delivered presentations to RDF high school students regarding universities, majors, student life, and advice for transitioning to another land for university study. Their visit brought delight to many teachers and students. In my conversations with these alumni, they told me RDFIS prepared them for university life in the United States of America. These statements were gratifying.

來(lái)自2019屆的七名瑞得福國(guó)際學(xué)校校友——Henry Wu，F(xiàn)elix Wu，Berton Huang，Vincent Zhao，Cyrus Wang，Alan Chen，Jack Huang——在大學(xué)寒假期間回到母校進(jìn)行了拜訪。校友們拜訪了以前的同學(xué)和老師，并與學(xué)弟學(xué)妹們分享了他們?cè)谧x的大學(xué)、專業(yè)、大學(xué)生活以及高中向大學(xué)過(guò)渡的許多建議。他們的來(lái)訪使老師和同學(xué)們感到非常高興。在與這些校友的談話中，他們告訴我，曾經(jīng)在RDFIS的學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)歷為他們?cè)诿绹?guó)的大學(xué)生活做好了準(zhǔn)備。這些評(píng)價(jià)令人非常高興。

New and returning students are enjoying their classes. Most students have year-long classes, but semester classes also bring excitement and change for the future months.

新生和返校的學(xué)生都非常享受他們的課程。大多數(shù)學(xué)生都有一年期的課程，學(xué)期的課程也將為他們未來(lái)的幾個(gè)月帶來(lái)不同的興奮和變化。

* Q2 REPORT CARDS 第二學(xué)期成績(jī)單

Q2 report cards were published to students and parents. Many scholars improved their GPA this term. Congratulations to each for their diligence and work!

第二季度成績(jī)單已公布，并發(fā)送給學(xué)生和家長(zhǎng)。這個(gè)學(xué)期，許多的同學(xué)提高了他們的GPA。每一位同學(xué)的努力得到了相應(yīng)的回報(bào)，祝賀他們!

* HONOR ROLL ASSEMBLIES Q2頒獎(jiǎng)典禮

The Q2 honors will be awarded to G7–9 on January 14 (Tuesday) at 7:10 PM and to G10–12 on January 16 (Thursday) at 7:10 PM. The honor criteria are as follows:

學(xué)校將分別于 1 月 14 日(星期二)晚 19:10 舉行的 G7-9 榮譽(yù)頒獎(jiǎng)，于 1 月 16 日(星期四)晚19:10舉行的G10～12 榮譽(yù)頒獎(jiǎng)，以表彰同學(xué)們?cè)赒2付出的努力并鼓勵(lì)他們繼續(xù)加油和進(jìn)步!評(píng)獎(jiǎng)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)如下:

-High Honor Roll 杰出榮譽(yù)獎(jiǎng) = 3.850 GPA and above

-Honor Roll 榮譽(yù)獎(jiǎng) = 3.750 GPA and above

-Honorable Mention 榮譽(yù)提名獎(jiǎng) = 3.500 GPA and above

* BOYS BASKETBALL FINAL GAME AND SEASON REVIEW男子籃球季后賽與賽季回顧

The RDF Boys Basketball team had a good season. The coaches enjoyed watching the boys progress and were glad to see them come together as play as a team. We had some good wins, and a couple difficult losses, and we tried to find positives in every game while looking for ways to improve. After playing all seven teams in the SISAC league, we ended up in fourth place which earned us a spot in the league playoffs. This was the first time our basketball team has made it to the playoffs in our school’s history. It was quite an accomplishment which the coaches and team were very proud of.

這個(gè)賽季，瑞得福高中男子籃球隊(duì)有著極佳的表現(xiàn)。教練們欣喜的看到了男孩們的進(jìn)步，看到他們團(tuán)結(jié)一致、奮力拼搏的精神。我們?nèi)〉昧撕芏嗟膭倮?，但也?jīng)歷了幾次艱難的失敗，我們?cè)噲D在每場(chǎng)比賽中總結(jié)優(yōu)勢(shì)的方面，同時(shí)尋求改進(jìn)的方法。在SISAC(深圳國(guó)際學(xué)校體育賽事聯(lián)盟)聯(lián)賽中經(jīng)歷過(guò)與7所學(xué)校的比賽之后，我們最終獲得了第四名，這使得我們?cè)诩竞筚愔蝎@得了一席之地。這是我們籃球隊(duì)歷史上第一次進(jìn)入季后賽，是令人為之驕傲的成績(jī)。

Yesterday we traveled to SWIS for our much-anticipated game against ISNS, the number one seed in the tournament. We knew we had a tough game ahead of us, but the boys played didn’t back down. Both teams got off to a slow start and at halftime we were behind, but the game was still within reach. After a few mistakes and some frustration ISNS pulled ahead. This gave us the chance to get every player in for some playing time. We ended up losing by a decent number of points, but the boys held their heads high knowing they had earned a chance in the playoffs.

昨天，我們前往SWIS進(jìn)行了期待已久的季后賽比賽，對(duì)陣ISNS。ISNS是聯(lián)盟中的頭號(hào)種子選手。我們知道比賽會(huì)很艱難，但是男孩們并沒(méi)有退縮。兩支球隊(duì)都很慢熱，中場(chǎng)休息時(shí)我們落后了，但比賽仍在進(jìn)行中。在經(jīng)歷了一些錯(cuò)誤和一些挫折之后，ISNS吹響了他們進(jìn)攻的號(hào)角。我們最終輸?shù)袅吮荣?，但是男孩們依舊昂首挺胸，驕傲地迎接往后的季后賽比賽。

* SPRING FESTIVAL 春節(jié)假期

We look forward to the Chinese New Year Festivals and are playing traditional Chinese Festival music between each class this week and next week. One student told me that it is very positive for her to hear the music, and that it is very energizing and she likes it very much. There is NO SCHOOL from 1/18?2/8. Enjoy the holiday!

我們期待著中國(guó)農(nóng)歷新年的到來(lái)，學(xué)校已經(jīng)調(diào)整在每節(jié)課之間播放傳統(tǒng)的中國(guó)節(jié)日音樂(lè)作為鈴聲。一位學(xué)生告訴我，新的課間鈴聲讓她感到一種非常積極的感覺(jué)，充滿活力，她非常喜歡。農(nóng)歷新年假期從1月18日開(kāi)始到2月8日結(jié)束。祝假期愉快!

* STUDENT CLUBS 社團(tuán)招新

Student clubs will be exhibited next week. Students can participate in our RDFIS Club Recruitment Event. Many thanks to our student government for coordinating the organization of our student community!

學(xué)生社團(tuán)展也將在下周到來(lái)。同學(xué)們可以參加我們的社團(tuán)招新活動(dòng)。非常感謝我們學(xué)生會(huì)的同學(xué)們，他們很好的開(kāi)展了我們學(xué)生社團(tuán)的組織工作!
