教育就是激發(fā)這種熱情,讓孩子追隨內(nèi)心的源動(dòng)力去探索,去創(chuàng)造。

Education is about stimulating this passion which children are able to follow inner strength in their hearts to create and explore.


近年來(lái),在跨國(guó)企業(yè)中,印度裔的CEO數(shù)量占全球CEO數(shù)量的30%,這一現(xiàn)象,不禁讓我們好奇,到底是什么樣的教育模式和思想根源,產(chǎn)生這樣的改變?在大火的《他鄉(xiāng)的童年》中,我們可以一窺端倪。

In recent years, among all the CEOs in the MNCs, 30% of them are Indian descendants, which makes us question what kind of mindsets and patterns in education cause this phenomenon. In the popular 'childhood elsewhere' , we can find out why.

除了Jugaad的行為解決模式,課堂上質(zhì)疑正確答案的“批判性課堂”,其中在“云中學(xué)?!焙汀疤焯脤W(xué)?!崩飳W(xué)校倡導(dǎo)的 SOLE理念,分別給印度“貧困地區(qū)教育”和“精英教育”帶來(lái)了巨大的影響和改變。在SOLE的模式里,孩子們忘記了自己是在某種規(guī)范之中,他們跟隨自己的興趣,利用互聯(lián)網(wǎng)工具,在自己找答案時(shí)忘記了時(shí)間與空間的刻度,自己變成學(xué)習(xí)的主人。

Besides the behaviour solution proposed by Jugaad, critical thinking classes which question the right answers, 'School in the Cloud' using the SOLE concept all have influenced and transformed Indian education in poverty region and elite education. Under SOLE, students can pursue their interests using Internet tools and masters of their own studies while boundaries of time, space and rules are removed.

SOLE是Self Organized Learning Environment 的縮寫,意為“自組織的學(xué)習(xí)環(huán)境”,這個(gè)理念來(lái)源于英國(guó)紐卡斯?fàn)柎髮W(xué)的教授Sugata Mitra的研究,旨在鼓勵(lì)孩子探索問(wèn)題,讓他們利用天生的好奇心形成自我驅(qū)動(dòng)的學(xué)習(xí)環(huán)境,并在團(tuán)隊(duì)合作中,進(jìn)行問(wèn)題和目標(biāo)導(dǎo)向型團(tuán)隊(duì)的自我學(xué)習(xí),自我管理和自我進(jìn)化。

SOLE stands for Self Organized Learning Environment, it was originated from Professor Sugata Mitra, University of Newcastle, UK and aimed to encourage children to explore and exploit natural inquisitiveness to form a self-motivated learning environment. In the form of teamwork, to perform result-oriented and question-based independent learning, self-management and self-evolution.


它的核心要素包括:自組織,興趣與熱情,溝通與協(xié)作,社會(huì)化,自我管理,同伴學(xué)習(xí)環(huán)境。

Its core elements are: self-organised, interest and passion, communication and collaboration, socialised, self-management, peer studying environment.

在萬(wàn)雙的校園里,學(xué)生社團(tuán)就是這么一個(gè)志同道合人員的集合體。社團(tuán)成員由有共同興趣和愛(ài)好的在校就讀學(xué)生自愿組成,由兩位同學(xué)發(fā)起,招募。社團(tuán)成員一般不少于6人。學(xué)?,F(xiàn)有72個(gè)學(xué)生社團(tuán)。

In VBS, students society is the place where like-minded students unite. Members of each society consist of students who share common interests and voluntarily sign up for. Two students are required to initiate their society and recruit no fewer than four members. Currently VBS has 72 students societies.

萬(wàn)雙的學(xué)生社團(tuán)活動(dòng)內(nèi)容分為領(lǐng)導(dǎo)素養(yǎng)、科學(xué)素養(yǎng)、人文素養(yǎng)、藝術(shù)素養(yǎng)、體育素質(zhì)、專題探究、生活技能、服務(wù)實(shí)踐等八大類別。學(xué)生們?cè)谶@八大類別的框架內(nèi)能暢所欲想,自由發(fā)揮,設(shè)計(jì)和組建自己感興趣的社團(tuán),找到志同道合的伙伴。

Society activities are classified into eight categories - leadership, scientific, humanities, artistic, sports, project research, life skills and service learning. Students are free to think, design, and form societies based on their interests, and through these societies like-minded pupils can come together and learn from each other.

當(dāng)“繽紛社團(tuán)”這個(gè)話題碰巧和一群萬(wàn)雙學(xué)生的興趣產(chǎn)生交集的時(shí)候,我們驚訝地看到,孩子們眼中的光在閃耀,在匯聚。他們內(nèi)心里燃燒著夢(mèng)想——他們對(duì)自己一手創(chuàng)辦的社團(tuán)滿懷熱情——?jiǎng)?chuàng)意滿滿的海報(bào)和口號(hào),熱情洋溢的招募邀請(qǐng),大膽切實(shí)的社團(tuán)規(guī)劃,專注認(rèn)真的活動(dòng)組織……

As the idea of student societies comes across with the students' interests, surprisingly we see students are excited. With dreams inside their hearts, they are passionate about the societies created by their own - they put up creative flyers and cheers during the fervent recruitment session as well as plan boldly but realistically and organise activities with focus and seriousness.

Liu Yiran 7C, President of Programming and IoT Society


我們的社團(tuán)為對(duì)科技有興趣,熱愛(ài)科學(xué),好奇心強(qiáng),邏輯能力強(qiáng),擁有批判性思維和創(chuàng)造力的同學(xué)量身定制可以自由創(chuàng)造和發(fā)揮的空間,培養(yǎng)社員的合作能力和編程能力,對(duì)每一位社員負(fù)責(zé)。

Our society is tailored for students who have interests in science and technology, who love science, who are curious and strong in logics, who have critical thinking skills and innovations. It has rooms for them to create and perform their talents while facilitating teamwork and programming ability. We are responsible for every member.


我們相信,編程是未來(lái)的第二通用語(yǔ)言,是駕馭人工智能的工具。目前,我們實(shí)施輪值小助教的形式選擇社團(tuán)干部,聘請(qǐng)老師指導(dǎo),成立家長(zhǎng)后援團(tuán),邀請(qǐng)科技行業(yè)家長(zhǎng)不定期指導(dǎo),并將組織社員到校外高科技企業(yè)參觀,開(kāi)闊學(xué)生視野。

We believe that programming is the second most commonly used language in future, and a tool to AI. As for now, we choose leaders in the form of rotation as tutors and invite teachers for guidance. We also have a parents committee which invites parents from the sector to guide us from time to time, while organising exhibition tours to high-tech enterprises to broaden our horizons.

Chen Yun 4D, President of Student Journalist Society


我本人喜歡和語(yǔ)言表達(dá)相關(guān)的活動(dòng),如采訪、朗誦、主持和演戲。成立社團(tuán)是希望我和同學(xué)們?cè)诓稍L、拍照、語(yǔ)言表達(dá)方面的能力有所提升。同時(shí),我覺(jué)得這些能力對(duì)于同學(xué)們來(lái)說(shuō)也很重要,希望大家共同學(xué)習(xí)、進(jìn)步。在社團(tuán)活動(dòng)中,我覺(jué)得自己的語(yǔ)言表達(dá)能力得到了提高,在采訪他人或接受采訪時(shí),知道怎么組織語(yǔ)言了。我將來(lái)的夢(mèng)想是成為一名專業(yè)演員,作為演員最重要的技能之一就是如何表達(dá)自己以及隨機(jī)應(yīng)變的能力,這兩項(xiàng)技能都在社團(tuán)活動(dòng)中得到了鍛煉。

I like activities related to language articulation such as interviewing, reciting, hosting and performing a play. The establishment of the society is to improve our ability in those areas. I think this ability is crucial for pupils, and hope everyone learn and progress. In conducting activities, I have improved my linguistic ability and know how to organise my expressions upon interviews. My dream is to become a professional actress, in which one of the key aspects is to express yourself and improvise. I have honed these two skills in doing society activities.

Qi Zihan 2C, President of Arts Society


我希望社團(tuán)每一位成員都能創(chuàng)作出有創(chuàng)意的作品。我教他們用彩色膠水作畫,或用水晶彩泥灑到蛋糕上……目前我們社團(tuán)有9個(gè)人,為了讓大家都充分揮自己的才華,大家輪流擔(dān)任社長(zhǎng)。當(dāng)社長(zhǎng)是一件非常開(kāi)心的事,我每天都在想下節(jié)課要教他們畫什么,自己也在不斷進(jìn)步。

I hope every member in this society can craft innovative paintings. As I teach members to paint using colorful gels or . Currently we have nine members, and we take turns to be the president so that everyone gets to show their talents. It is delighted for me to take the president position as I constantly improve myself by mulling over on things I plan to teach fellow members to paint every single day.



沨之諾籃球社團(tuán)社長(zhǎng):彭淦沨 3D

Peng Ganfeng 3D, President of Basketball Society


我們社團(tuán)有12人,與有共同愛(ài)好的同學(xué)一起打球是一件很開(kāi)心的事。大家在一起有說(shuō)有笑,增進(jìn)了友誼。通過(guò)學(xué)習(xí)和交流,我懂得了正規(guī)比賽的規(guī)則,我夢(mèng)想有一天當(dāng)一名演員或一名優(yōu)秀的球員。

We have 12 members in our society, it is real fun to play basketball with pupils having the common interest. Everyone gets to know one another in laughters as we play along. Through learning from one another and communication, I understand the rules of the game and I would like to be an actor or an excellent basketball player.


足球社團(tuán)社長(zhǎng):李羿辰 4C

Li Yichen 4C, President of Football Society


為了與大家一起感受足球的樂(lè)趣,增強(qiáng)體質(zhì),我們成立了足球社團(tuán)。目前有社員16名。大家在操場(chǎng)分隊(duì)踢球,或展開(kāi)一場(chǎng)點(diǎn)球大戰(zhàn),十分過(guò)癮。我的夢(mèng)想是進(jìn)入中國(guó)足球隊(duì),并且當(dāng)隊(duì)長(zhǎng)。

To improve our fitness and enjoy playing football with everybody, we form the football society. Currently it has 16 members. We often separate into groups to play matches or penalty shout-out at the pitch, which is thrilling. My dream is to be the captain of Chinese national football team.


魅力社團(tuán)


在SOLE學(xué)習(xí)模式里,我們可以看到兩個(gè)重點(diǎn),第一是“自我”,第二是“環(huán)境”。

“自我”現(xiàn)在越來(lái)越普及,國(guó)內(nèi)這幾年火熱的“PBL”,就是基于項(xiàng)目制的學(xué)習(xí),強(qiáng)調(diào)自主探究。

而“環(huán)境”往往卻被忽略。學(xué)習(xí)并不是單打獨(dú)斗,一個(gè)人就算再牛,能力也有局限。

如何營(yíng)造一個(gè)學(xué)習(xí)好環(huán)境,利用環(huán)境優(yōu)勢(shì)學(xué)到最多最好,從同伴中學(xué)習(xí),是SOLE教育給我們帶來(lái)更有啟發(fā)的部分,也是萬(wàn)小雙在“社團(tuán)活動(dòng)”中進(jìn)行的探索和整合。

In the SOLE, we observe the two main ideas - 'self' and 'environment'. With the popularisation of 'self' concept and the famous 'PBL', i.e. Project-based Learning, emphasises on independent research.

However, 'environment' is often neglected. Studying is not about doing a solo work, one person still has his/her limits even he/she is naturally intelligent. Exploiting the environment to maximise learning and building a conducive studying environment to facilitate learning from one another, is the part where SOLE enlightens us. This is also what VBS is trying to integrate and explore through student societies.




在教育的道路上,我們希望能激發(fā)學(xué)生內(nèi)心的原動(dòng)力,讓孩子們不僅能夠跟隨,去揮灑內(nèi)心的激情,也能夠有效地進(jìn)行自我管理和自我規(guī)劃。當(dāng)SOLE的理念與萬(wàn)小雙的“繽紛社團(tuán)活動(dòng)“相融合時(shí),也是孩子們”眼中有光,心中有夢(mèng),腳下有路”的燦爛人生的進(jìn)行時(shí)。

Education is about stimulating this passion which children are able to follow their hearts and to effectively conduct self-management and self-planning. As we fuse the SOLE concept with VBS student societies, it is time for students to realise their hopes and dreams.


萬(wàn)小雙說(shuō):

在社團(tuán)活動(dòng)中,我們衷心希望我們的孩子能在社團(tuán)活動(dòng)組織和執(zhí)行中,活動(dòng)中去合作與溝通,去創(chuàng)新與創(chuàng)造,去習(xí)得核心的創(chuàng)造力與辯證思維、交流與合作素養(yǎng),并且能在溝通與合作中,進(jìn)行良好的自我管理(自我認(rèn)識(shí),自我調(diào)控和自我規(guī)劃),最終在興趣的導(dǎo)向下,成為一個(gè)有公民責(zé)任和社會(huì)參與感的終身學(xué)習(xí)者。

We sincerely hope our students to collaborate and communicate, to innovate and create, in the execution and organising societies activities. Hopefully students can be lifelong learners who have civil and social participation after conducting self-management (self-perception, self-control and self-planning) in the interest-oriented process.


關(guān)于萬(wàn)小雙社團(tuán)你需要知道的

學(xué)生自己提出想法,設(shè)計(jì)實(shí)現(xiàn)目標(biāo)的計(jì)劃,并且全權(quán)負(fù)責(zé)執(zhí)行。每次活動(dòng)都有一名老師在現(xiàn)場(chǎng)監(jiān)督協(xié)助。

Students come up with ideas on plans to achieve the goals and execute fully all by themselves. There will be one teacher on site to supervise the students every session.

以上只是一部分學(xué)生社團(tuán),

每一個(gè)社團(tuán)都是孩子們鍛煉領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力的好平臺(tái)。


This is just an exceprt of all VBS student societies, each society serves as a great platform for students to development their leadership capabilities.
