G9C Janet

G9B Tina

In this hot summer, all the G9 students of ULink College went to Queensland, the wonderful state of Australia, the signature place of interest—Golden Coast. Of course, the purpose of this educational trip was to not only learn about the local culture, manner, but also practice and improve our English skills.
Firstly, I would like to talk about my homestay. They were Mrs. Virginia and Mr. David, who were kind, patient and fun. In the spare time, I watched television with them and they often talked about topics like weather, population, places of interest and so on. It really improved my English skills within these 6 weeks.
The homestay was good indeed, and the most important character of this trip is to study in the local school. I was allocated to a school called Moreton Bay Boy College. From the name of the school you can easily know it is a school for boy students only. Every Tuesday, we had lessons with our buddy from this school, experienced the English study system. For the rest of the study days, Mrs. Cudmore and Ms. Pynor taught us English lessons. What a good chance to improve my English skills!
At last, for excursions, an Australian slang says “all study but without playing make jack into a silly boy”. In the last week we camped in a small farm. We had teamwork building up our friendship, also we thanked our classmates to make this trip more colorful.

Our G9 students were lucky enough to attend a six-week study program in Brisbane, Australia before returning to ULink College Guangzhou. I think the most memorable moment in Australia was meeting a girl called Satomi from Japan and stayed with her for ten days. She was very nice and always talked to us. Although we were both shy at first, we both soon opened up as family.
We went to Palm Beach, then we took a boat to another island for a picnic. Along the way we laughed and took pictures of many beautiful sceneries. We can also see whales coming up to breathe. We walked to the edge of the water to feel the temperature of it and splashed water on each other. On the other day we went to David Fleay Wildlife Park. We saw lizards running down the roar, took pictures up close with kangaroos, caught crocodiles enjoying the sun and so on. At the end of the day, we threw Satomi a birthday party. It was a surprise for her. It was a pity that she only spent 10 days in Australia. We didn't want her to leave when she went back to Japan. What an unforgettable and happy moment it was! I will never forget about it and will always remember it in my mind.

I think the best thing for me is to take the helicopter in the SeaWorld. On that day, my good friend Vincent and I went to the ticket office to buy tickets first, then we went to a restaurant for a medium steak before we went to the helicopter waiting area.
When we were sitting in the helicopter, it seemed that the trees beside the helicopter were dancing and the water in SeaWorld was splashing. I felt that now we got into the helicopter! During helicopter flight time, we saw the beautiful Gold Coast and the blue sea. Those ten minutes became an important moment of my life. The money on the ticket was well spent!

I gained a lot during my past six weeks to Australia, including two close Japanese friends.
Their names were Rea and Ririka, we met each other by chance, and soon became good friends. Fate made us know each other, and we both cherish that time we spent together very much. Although we only stayed together for a few days, our tacit understanding is self-evident, we laughed together and share secrets and experiences. Now I'm still in touch with them.
Thank for this study tour to Australia, I enjoyed not only the local people and customs of Australia, but also good friends. I will cherish this memory and go forward with my best wishes.
