轉(zhuǎn)眼間第一個探究單元“我們?nèi)绾谓M織自己”就要接近尾聲,一年級的同學(xué)們在這段時間內(nèi)忙著學(xué)習(xí)各式各樣的交通系統(tǒng),探索交通系統(tǒng)的發(fā)展歷程及其對人們?nèi)粘I畹挠绊憽?/p>

The Grade 1 students have been busy exploring about different types of transportation systems, how they have evolved and how they have impact on people’s daily lives. At the beginning of the unit, the students watched a video of streets in Shenzhen and had a conversation about their knowledge about signs, symbols, and the types of transportation systems on the roads in Shenzhen. The students also shared about different transportation systems they took during the summer holidays. During our brainstorming session, the students shared their understanding of why we need transportation systems. Some of their answers were, “We can go to England.” “We will not be tired.” “You walk is very slow, you drive a car is very fast.”(Driving is much faster than walking.) “If I walk to school, when I get to school, the school is finish.” (If I walk to school, the school will be closed when I get there.)“We can see more things and learn more things.” Thus, we concluded that transportation systems help us to save time, get to places, protect us from the weather and make our lives easier.
轉(zhuǎn)眼間第一個探究單元“我們?nèi)绾谓M織自己”就要接近尾聲,一年級的同學(xué)們在這段時間內(nèi)忙著學(xué)習(xí)各式各樣的交通系統(tǒng),探索交通系統(tǒng)的發(fā)展歷程及其對人們?nèi)粘I畹挠绊?。在本單元剛開始時,一年級的同學(xué)觀看了一段深圳街道的視頻,由此引發(fā)了大家對交通標(biāo)志,指示牌等公路系統(tǒng)中重要組成部分的熱議。同學(xué)們還分享了各自在暑假期間使用過的交通工具。在大家進(jìn)行“頭腦風(fēng)暴”時,有的同學(xué)分享了他們對“為什么人們需要交通系統(tǒng)”的理解:“我們可以去英國!”“可以節(jié)省體力!” “開車比走路要快很多!”“如果我只能走路去學(xué)校,可能等我走到學(xué)校時都已經(jīng)放學(xué)了!”“我們可以看到和學(xué)到更多知識!” 一年級的同學(xué)們就此得出了他們的結(jié)論,交通系統(tǒng)可以幫助我們節(jié)省時間,帶我們?nèi)ゲ煌牡胤?,避免極端天氣下出行在外的安全隱患,使我們的生活變得更加方便。
One morning, when the students arrived at class, there were huge boxes of resources waiting for them, and they wondered where these come from and how did they get to our class. They each made their own predictions and we invited Ms. Maggie to come and share with the kids more information about these. They learnt that some of the things came from other countries through shipping and air delivery while some came from China in big trucks. The students then designed a class delivery service and they said they wanted it to go on water, under the ground, in the space and on the road. As a whole class, they drew their plan and came up with their own prototype for their dream delivery service transportation.
一天早上,同學(xué)們剛走進(jìn)教室就注意到教室里擺放了一些裝著學(xué)習(xí)用品的大箱子,他們很好奇這些箱子從何而來,又是怎樣來到我們教室的。同學(xué)們紛紛做出了自己的猜測,并且邀請了管理學(xué)校倉庫的Maggie老師來一年級教室解答大家的疑惑。通過Maggie老師的分享,同學(xué)們得知有些箱子是從其他的國家空運或海運來到中國的,有的是搭乘大卡車來到我們校園。接著大家開始設(shè)計和制作屬于一年級的交通運輸工具,他們設(shè)想這將是一輛可以上天入海,甚至飛向外太空的多功能交通工具。同學(xué)們都積極合作,將自己的想法運用到手工中,合力創(chuàng)造出了他們夢想中的交通工具。
We also explored the importance of using maps and how navigation has evolved over time. The students came up with their own metro maps designs, road maps, and we also played “Scavenger Hunt” using a physical map and “Hide and Seek” using the sharing location GPS feature of WeChat to help them navigate their way to finding each other. They compared old and new ways of navigating and talked about how they think the new ways make it easier for people to find their way when using transportation systems.
除此之外我們還一起探索了使用地圖的重要性以及地圖的發(fā)展更新過程。同學(xué)們設(shè)計了自己的地鐵線路圖和公路地圖。我們還一起用紙質(zhì)地圖玩尋寶游戲,用微信里的GPS實時定位地圖玩捉迷藏。同學(xué)們比較了傳統(tǒng)地圖和電子地圖的不同,交流和思考著新技術(shù)對人們使用交通系統(tǒng)的影響。
After all these learning opportunities, the Grade 1 students are now ready to design their own city and future transportation systems that will be used in it to improve people’s lives.
這些探索式的學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)歷激發(fā)了同學(xué)們展開想象,動手規(guī)劃自己城市的交通系統(tǒng),他們正思考未來的交通系統(tǒng)又將如何改善和影響人們的生活。
