學(xué)生們表示這兩周雖然身居異國(guó)他鄉(xiāng),但不會(huì)感到孤單,因?yàn)橛俑鐐惐葋喆髮W(xué)帶來(lái)的不一樣的感受充實(shí)了他們的生活。孩子們不斷成長(zhǎng),不斷收獲,不斷感悟。
從同學(xué)們到達(dá)的第二天起,英屬哥倫比亞大學(xué)的精彩校園生活就開(kāi)始了,每天早上經(jīng)過(guò)班長(zhǎng)的對(duì)一天行程的介紹并吃完早飯,同學(xué)們便各自前往了自己所選課程的課堂。
The wonderful campus life of University of British Columbia began on the second day since arrival. Every morning, after the monitor's introduction of the day's schedule and breakfast, the students went to their own courses.
每節(jié)課時(shí)長(zhǎng)為3個(gè)小時(shí),這對(duì)習(xí)慣了40分課堂的中國(guó)學(xué)生無(wú)疑是一種挑戰(zhàn)。學(xué)生們根據(jù)自己的愛(ài)好和英語(yǔ)水平,選擇了不同的課程。課堂上,和藹可親,愛(ài)鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生思考的老師不會(huì)直接地闡述有關(guān)的概念,而是設(shè)置懸念讓學(xué)生積極思考,用自己的大腦開(kāi)辟思維的新方式;不僅如此,英屬哥倫比亞的大學(xué)老師并不是一味地教授學(xué)生新的知識(shí),他善于引導(dǎo)學(xué)生基于原有的基礎(chǔ)再創(chuàng)造,在思考過(guò)程中拓展思維,強(qiáng)化破解難題的能力。
Each class took three hours long, which is a challenge for Chinese students who have been accustomed to 40-minute classes.Students chose different courses according to their hobbies and English level.In class, the amiable teachers loved to set suspense for students to think actively and open up new ways of thinking with their own brains, rather than directly explained relevant concepts.Moreover, the teachers did not just give the knowledge to students. Instead, they were good at guiding students to re-create based on the original foundation, expanding their thinking in the process of thinking, and strengthening the ability to solve problems.
同學(xué)們所在的課堂上有很多外國(guó)學(xué)生,大家嘗試積極與他們交流,了解他們不同的表達(dá)方法、思維方式,更加理解了中外文化的差異。課后,孩子們都表示受益匪淺。
There were many foreign students in the class, so the students from SCCSC tried to communicate with them actively, aiming to understand their different ways of expression and thinking, as well as better understand the differences between Chinese and foreign cultures. After class, the students from SCCSC all said they benefited a lot.
在中午大約1點(diǎn)到3點(diǎn)時(shí)候,有大學(xué)主持的講座,講座內(nèi)容多是關(guān)于在大學(xué)以及工作后在各方面的有用建議,比如說(shuō)大學(xué)申請(qǐng)的關(guān)鍵,面試的注意事項(xiàng),以及如何在大學(xué)取得成功。全程近兩個(gè)小時(shí)滿滿的都是干貨,同學(xué)們也隨時(shí)能提問(wèn)解疑,這些講座對(duì)學(xué)生們的未來(lái)是極有幫助的。
之后3點(diǎn)到6點(diǎn),以及晚上7點(diǎn)到9點(diǎn),是一天中最充滿驚喜的拓展活動(dòng)環(huán)節(jié)。班長(zhǎng)會(huì)以宿舍樓層為單位帶領(lǐng)同學(xué)去不同的地方參觀,這些地方或蘊(yùn)藏著加拿大本土的文化,或者包含各種學(xué)術(shù)知識(shí)與神奇新事物,也有的是釋放壓力、欣賞自然的好去處。
At about 1:00 p.m. to 3:00p.m., there was a lecture hosted by the university. The lecture was mainly to give some advice on various situations in the university and after work, such as the key to college application, matters to be noted in the interview, and how to succeed in the university.The two-hour lecture was full of useful information, and students could ask questions at any time. The lectures like this are very helpful for students' future.
Later, the two periods, 3 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., were the time for doing some stretching activities, which were the most surprising parts of the day.The monitor took students to visit different places based on the dormitory floor, which may contain the local culture of Canada, academic knowledge or some amazing new things. There were also some good places for students to release pressure and enjoy nature.
兩周以來(lái),學(xué)生們參觀了日落的沙灘,爭(zhēng)奇斗艷的植物園,珍藏著一副完整藍(lán)鯨骨架的人文博物館,藝術(shù)風(fēng)格與原住民意愿相合的美術(shù)館以及喧鬧繁華的市中心,凡此種種,都在孩子的心中留下美好的回憶。
In the past two weeks, students visited the beach at sunset, the stunning botanical garden, the Museum of Anthropology with a complete blue whale skeleton, the Art Gallery whose art style meets the wishes of the aboriginal people, and the bustling downtown, all of which leave precious memories in the students’ heart.
學(xué)生們表示這兩周雖然身居異國(guó)他鄉(xiāng),但不會(huì)感到孤單,因?yàn)橛俑鐐惐葋喆髮W(xué)帶來(lái)的不一樣的感受充實(shí)了他們的生活。孩子們不斷成長(zhǎng),不斷收獲,不斷感悟。
The students said they did not feel lonely in a foreign country for the past two weeks because the University of British Columbia enriched their lives with a different experience, through which they continued to grow, harvest and feel.
