上周，世界DNA 基因遺傳技術(shù)前驅(qū)——英國(guó)萊斯特大學(xué)的招生官來(lái)到梅沙黑利伯瑞書(shū)院，與同學(xué)們進(jìn)行了深入的溝通交流。

英國(guó)萊斯特大學(xué)成立于1921年，由英國(guó)著名紡織業(yè)制造商湯瑪斯·菲奧丁·詹森(Thomas Fielding Johnson)為紀(jì)念第一次世界大戰(zhàn)時(shí)犧牲的士兵而建。大學(xué)位于英國(guó)賴(lài)斯特郡首府萊斯特市，倫敦以北160公里(乘火車(chē)前往倫敦約1個(gè)半小時(shí))，臨近有4個(gè)機(jī)場(chǎng)，交通發(fā)達(dá)，生活便捷。

梅沙黑利伯瑞書(shū)院學(xué)生可在11年級(jí)起選讀A-Level 課程，并通過(guò)英國(guó)大學(xué)申請(qǐng)系統(tǒng)——UCAS系統(tǒng)申請(qǐng)心儀的英國(guó)大學(xué);選讀VCE課程的同學(xué)也可按照大學(xué)要求提交相關(guān)成績(jī)進(jìn)行申請(qǐng)。據(jù)萊斯特大學(xué)招生官表示，萊斯特大學(xué)部分專(zhuān)業(yè)要求A-LEVEL成績(jī)達(dá)到ABB、雅思6.5分以上。招生官提醒同學(xué)們，申請(qǐng)英國(guó)大學(xué)，除A-LEVEL及雅思成績(jī)外，還需要提交英文推薦信及學(xué)生個(gè)人陳述(PS)。

The University of Leicester is internationally recognized for its groundbreaking research and development in the field of DNA Genetic Technology. This week, the University Admission Officer came to Meisha Academy by Haileybury(MAH) to share information with our students in an in-depth communication session.

As a tribute to servicemen who gave their lives fighting in the First World War, well-known British textile manufacturer Thomas Fielding Johnson established the university in 1921. The university is located in Leicester, the capital of Leicestershire, 160km north of London (about an hour and a half by train). Four international airports are situated in locations directly accessible from the campus.

As a well-known British university, University of Leicester enjoys a splendid international reputation. Perhaps the most celebrated innovation pioneered at the university is the invention of DNA finger printing technology. This breakthrough enabled faculty to confirm the remains of King Charles III. Its scientific research achievements in Museum Research have catapulted the university to first place in the UK, and its major of media ranks 43rd in the world according to 2019 QS. University of Leicester provides students with opportunities to gain extracurricular experience. Students can apply for an one-year overseas exchange study or internship free of charge at the undergraduate level.

MAH students can take A-Level courses from 11th grade and apply for their preferred British universities through the British university application system, UCAS. According to admission officers at Leicester, some majors at the University of Leicester require applicants to score ABB in A-Level and 6.5 points in IELTS. Admission officers remind students that for application to a British university, in addition to A-level and IELTS results, recommendation letters and personal statements in English are also required.
