Speaking with Mr. Russell, ISNS Lower Primary Years Principal, he envisioned the EY Sports Day to be a day that would celebrate the joy of loving the day and being excited about school. He noted, “when we love to come to school, we learn more deeply.” Seeing the joy on the faces of the children today highlighted this very point. Students were engaged and having fun and learning at the same time — Learning how to work well with their teammates, learning to master their gross and fine motor skills and learning to communicate clearly with each other.

Furthermore, Mr. Nicholas Beard, Lower Primary Years Coordinator, noted that sports day was created to meet the students where they are in their stage of development. All the stations were crafted so that students were all able to participate during the entire activity.

As the students began to sit down for their morning snack, Mr. Russell pointed out that he wanted to encourage parents to create a sports day that can involve their family and their friends and neighbors as well. Following the school's example, he believes that parents can emulate today wherever they may be.
