　　親愛的TWIS家長們，

　　Dear TWIS Parents,

　　當(dāng)肺炎病疫情帶來憂慮和不安時，有一件事情讓大家可以放心：即使是線上教學(xué)，東華文澤學(xué)校也一如既往致力為學(xué)生提供最好的學(xué)習(xí)體驗。

　　In the midst of the uncertainties brought about by the coronavirus, one thing remains certain: Tungwah Wenzel International School is always committed to delivering the best possible learning experiences to our students … even virtually.

　　TWIS的線上課程于2月3日正式開課，我們透過學(xué)習(xí)管理系統(tǒng)ManageBac和視頻軟件Microsoft Teams歡迎學(xué)生和新家庭的加入。線上視頻教學(xué)是按每班進行，而老師會預(yù)留時間讓學(xué)生完成作業(yè)。

　　Launched on February 3rd, the TWIS Virtual School welcomes back its students as well as new families to school through its learning management systems, ManageBac and Microsoft Teams. Virtual conferences are held as a class, and students are given time to do the tasks assigned to them.

　　我們衷心感謝各位家長為子女們設(shè)置和協(xié)助使用學(xué)習(xí)平臺。家長們是終生學(xué)習(xí)者的典范，因為他們克服了各種網(wǎng)絡(luò)連接和語言不通的問題。

　　We sincerely thank our parents for supporting their children in getting set-up and using our learning platforms. They have been excellent examples of what being lifelong learners are as they hurdle through some internet connectivity issues, as well as language barriers.

　　同時，TWIS團隊盡了最大的努力通過電話、電子郵件、School365和微信建立通信為各家庭提供支持。學(xué)校的雙語行政人員和IT團隊也隨時候命，不但以電話溝通、還制作平臺使用指引和視頻指導(dǎo)、以及一對一及小組的虛擬會議來提供技術(shù)支持。我們非常感謝他們的付出。

　　The TWIS team has done its best to support the families by setting-up communication via phone, email, School365 and WeChat. Our bilingual administrative staff and IT support team are always ready to provide support through phone calls, producing instructional guidelines and videos; and one-on-one and group virtual conferences. We are very grateful to all of them.

　　而當(dāng)學(xué)校宣布停課時，我們正在放假的老師立即開始計劃如何在受限制的條件下，設(shè)計合適的課程。在短短三天內(nèi)，線上課程開學(xué)了。從老師和家長分享的照片和視頻里，大家可以看到充滿趣味、引人入勝、切合學(xué)習(xí)目標(biāo)且具有挑戰(zhàn)性的課程。整個東華文澤學(xué)校社區(qū)都表現(xiàn)出堅毅不屈的精神，盡心盡力做到老師離校不離教，學(xué)生停課不停學(xué)。即使進行線上教學(xué)，課程也一貫TWIS強調(diào)的“全人發(fā)展”。除了數(shù)學(xué)、科學(xué)、語言和社會研究以外，我們的學(xué)生還與體育老師一起鍛煉和玩耍，并與充滿創(chuàng)意的音樂和美術(shù)老師一起制作音樂和藝術(shù)品。正如他們所說，表演仍需繼續(xù) (The show must go on)。

　　Our teachers who were on holiday when the school suspension was announced immediately started planning to deliver their lessons whenever and wherever possible. In a span of only three days, the Virtual School becomes functional. Lessons that are fun, engaging, relevant and challenging can be seen through the various photos and videos being shared by teachers and parents. The entire school community has shown grit and resilience in their efforts to make life go on for our students by keeping the mind and body busy. Even virtually, the TWIS curriculum can be seen emphasizing the teaching of the ‘whole person’. Aside from maths, sciences, languages and social studies, our students are engaged in exercise and play with their PE teachers, and are making music and artworks with the creative and performing arts team. The show must go on, as they say.

　　學(xué)校的助教也直接與學(xué)生和家長聯(lián)系，解答各種有關(guān)新學(xué)習(xí)平臺設(shè)置的任何疑問。而學(xué)校的輔導(dǎo)老師亦為待在家里的學(xué)生提供線上指導(dǎo)，以幫助他們應(yīng)對突如其來的疫情對生活的影響。

　　Our teaching assistants are in direct contact with students and families to answer any questions that they may have on how to organize our new learning set-up. Our school counselor offers guidance for students to help them cope with the new experience of being isolated and not being able to come back to school.

　　在等待一同回到東華文澤校園的那一天來臨時，所有教職員都堅信我們的學(xué)生在這段時間里將繼續(xù)增長知識、拓展思維、充實心靈。

　　TWIS teachers and staff are firm in their conviction that our students continue expanding their minds, and engaging in various fields of study as we await the day we are back together on our wonderful campus.
