* SPEECH CONTEST 演講比賽

Congratulations to Wednesday evening’s speech contest winners: Sween Zhou Wenxuan (First Place), Tim Yang Xiaoxu and Rose Yang Tongye (Second Place), and Jacey Yue Tienyin, Michelle Chen Hongyou, and Frank Huang Haoming (Third Place)!

恭喜周三晚上的演講比賽的獲勝者：Sween周文軒(第一名)，Tim楊曉旭和Rose楊彤燁(第二名)，Jacey俞天茵、Michelle陳泓佑、Frank黃浩洺(第三名)!

* STORYTELLING CONTEST 講故事的比賽

Thursday’s storytelling contest winners demonstrated impressive, clear English pronunciation and expressive stage presence as they told stories. Congratulations to Rain Wu Rui (First Place), Joshua Zhang Zhuohua, and Jason Liu Yuchen (Second Place), and David Hu Chuliang, Emma Chen Yizhen, and Langston Wang Yuzhuo (Third Place)!

* SPORTS REPORTS 體育戰(zhàn)報(bào)

Congratulations to our sports teams for several wins. Monday night on the RDFIS field, RDFIS’s middle school boys and girls beat the MIS teams, amidst moments of heavy rain.

祝賀我們的運(yùn)動(dòng)員們獲得了幾場比賽的勝利。周一晚上，在RDFIS主場，RDFIS的初中男女足隊(duì)員們在大雨中打敗了來自MIS的對(duì)手。

Wednesday night at QSI, the middle school girls won their soccer game. Though the boys arrived early and had a good warm up to prepare both physically and mentally, our opposition QSI were a disciplined outfit and moved the ball really well. The teams confidence was soon crushed after QSI opened the scoring after large spells of possession half way through the first half. The full time result ended with RDF in defeat.

星期三晚上在QSI，初中女足隊(duì)員贏得了足球比賽的勝利。盡管男隊(duì)早早到達(dá)，做好了充分的熱身準(zhǔn)備，但對(duì)手QSI表現(xiàn)出更為有素的訓(xùn)練水平，控球能力相較我方，略勝一籌。QSI在上半場的大多數(shù)時(shí)候都掌握著球權(quán)，不久后就收獲了破門得分的機(jī)會(huì)。不但攻破了我方球門，更在一定程度上對(duì)男隊(duì)的信心與士氣構(gòu)成影響。最終RDF男隊(duì)，在對(duì)手的強(qiáng)力攻勢之下，鎩羽而歸。

Thursday evening, the athletics teams learned by personal experience how a well-honed skill often wins games. Lillian Miller (G9) served well many times in a row, leading the RDF high school girls to victory over SWIS. The opposite was true for our boys: a SWIS boy led his team to victory with his repeated, skillful volleyball serve that was difficult to return. Often, a seemingly little skill makes a significant positive difference.

星期四晚上的經(jīng)歷，讓我們的運(yùn)動(dòng)員們領(lǐng)略到：精湛的技巧總能帶來比賽的勝利。莉莉安·米勒(Lillian Miller)(九年級(jí))多次突出的貢獻(xiàn)，帶領(lǐng)RDF高中女隊(duì)?wèi)?zhàn)勝了SWIS。男隊(duì)方面，戰(zhàn)況相反：SWIS男隊(duì)中一位隊(duì)員，頻頻通過其嫻熟的發(fā)球，為他的球隊(duì)得分并取得了最終的勝利。面對(duì)如此情形，男隊(duì)已無力回天，難以扳平反超比分。看似微不足道的精湛技術(shù)往往會(huì)對(duì)戰(zhàn)局的走向產(chǎn)生明顯的積極影響。

* ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSES AP課程

Shenzhen RDF International School takes great pride in the level of rigor and challenge presented to our students. This includes the Advanced Placement (AP) courses our students enroll in. Our courses have been authorized by the College Board and are taught by highly qualified faculty. Students who complete these courses are able to sit for the AP exam and with a qualifying score of 3 or higher out of a possible 5, can receive university credit and scholarships. By having these courses authorized, Shenzhen RDF helps to ensure that our students are taking challenging coursework that will help prepare them for university life and beyond.

Congratulations to RDFIS AP Teachers! The 2019-2020 syllabi of RDFIS’s AP courses were all formally approved by the US College Board during the past few weeks. Additionally, many students registered for the AP exams. We express our sincere thanks to many employees for their excellent efforts in this regard.
