這一周真的是生動有趣能量滿滿的一周!我們迎來了教師節(jié)和中秋節(jié),還進(jìn)行了第一次分院晨會!正值中秋佳節(jié),SIPC祝大家中秋快樂,闔家幸福!

This week is really a colourful and energetic week! We celebrated the teachers' day and the Mid-Autumn festival, but also conducted the first house assembly. It is the Mid-Autumn Festival, we wish you a happy Mid-Autumn Festival and a happy family!

本周中文課的中秋特別活動課,拼音國的國王來到班里做客,送出兩個皇冠給拼讀最厲害的小朋友們。通過拼讀通關(guān),小朋友們獲得做月餅的素材,集齊的小朋友們就可以設(shè)計自己的中秋月餅啦。數(shù)學(xué)課上,我們開始研究測量!我們估計房間里物品的長度,然后使用尺子!我們是一個團結(jié)互助的集體,當(dāng)看到有很大的物品時,我們便互相幫助! 用尺子把房間里的物品測量到最小的厘米! 樂高社團中,我們用樂高積木和字母建造最喜歡的建筑。在藝術(shù)課上,我們討論了地圖上的地點,然后學(xué)生們開始創(chuàng)建他們自己的島嶼。他們想出了很多很好的主意,干得真棒!然后他們畫了他們最喜歡的地方的迷你照片,他們將用這些照片來規(guī)劃他們的島嶼地圖。這周我們還一直在討論工作的問題。孩子們思考自己長大后想做什么。一些孩子獨立地寫句子,另一些用黑板上的觀點來支持他們的寫作。每個人都做得很棒。

This week in Chinese class, the king of pinyin comes to our special Mid-Autumn festival activity and presented two crowns to the students who can spell the best. Complete the Pinyin spelling task, students got the material to make moon cakes, and they can design their own moon cakes. In Math, we started looking at measuring! We estimated lengths of items around the room, then used our rulers! We worked as a small group, helping each other when the items got too big! Using rulers to measure items around the room to the nearest cm ! In Lego club, we were building with Lego’s, blocks and letters ! In Art class, we talked about places on a map before the students start creating their own island. They did a great job coming up with so many ideas! Then they drew mini pictures of their favorite places which they will use in planning their island maps. We have been discussing jobs this week. We thought about what we wanted to be when we grew up. Some children independently wrote sentences and others used ideas from the board to support their writing. Everyone did amazing job.

上周,作為IPC主題的一部分,我們已經(jīng)開始學(xué)習(xí)植物。作為學(xué)習(xí)的一部分,我們在不同的條件下播種,問自己問題:植物需要什么才能生長。有趣的是,我們發(fā)現(xiàn),在黑暗中尋找陽光時,種子長得最快。本周英文課上,我們用英語繼續(xù)進(jìn)行信息海報創(chuàng)作,讓人們了解植物的不同功能。孩子們是真的很喜歡探索這些關(guān)于植物的知識! 作為IPC重點的一部分,本周我們學(xué)習(xí)了關(guān)于動物適應(yīng)性的知識。我們了解到一些動物是如何適應(yīng)與它們的棲息地(環(huán)境)融為一體的。然后,孩子們開始尋找C先生的偽裝蝴蝶,然后自己也開始做自己的偽裝蝴蝶了。比賽的目的是看誰能做出最好的偽裝。最后,我們出色的Brennan先生來尋找二年級和三年級的蝴蝶。孩子們非常喜歡用他們出色的偽裝來逗樂Brennan先生! 藝術(shù)課上,我們跟隨IPC學(xué)習(xí)植物和動物。在藝術(shù)課上我們聽了一個故事“你用這樣的尾巴做什么?”我們談到了真正的動物超能力……甚至像龍和獨角獸這樣的奇異生物! 然后,學(xué)生們通過從書上畫植物和動物來練習(xí)像藝術(shù)家一樣“看”,每個人都展示了自己的才華。中文課上,孩子們學(xué)習(xí)了三個國學(xué)故事: 匡衡鑿壁偷光,傷仲永和孟母三遷,并學(xué)習(xí)了三字經(jīng)。

Last week, as part of our IPC topic, we started learning about plants. As part ofour learning, we planted seeds in different conditions, asking ourselves what plants needed to grow. Interestingly, the seeds in the dark have grown fastest as they desperately search for sunlight. In English this week, we continued with our information posters creating posters which inform people of the different functions parts of the plant have. The children have really enjoyed discovering all these to know about plants! As part of our IPC focus, we were learning all about animal adaptations. We learnt how some animals had adapted to blend in (camouflage) with their habitat (environment). Children then hunted for Mr. C's camouflaged butterflies before making some of their own. The competition was to see who could create the best camouflage. Our fantastic Head teacher, Mr. Brennan, then came to hunt for Grade 2 and 3's butterflies. The Children thoroughly enjoyed tricking Mr. Brennan with their excellent disguises! In Art class we are following along with IPC and studying plants and animals. Today in art we listened to the story "What Do You Do With a Tail Like This?" We talked about real animal superpowers...and even some fantasy creatures like dragons and unicorns! The students then practiced "seeing" like artists by drawing plants and animals from books. They are so talented! In Chinese class, the students learned three Chinese stories: Knocking a Hole in the Wall to Steal Light, Injury ZhongYong, Mencius'Mother Moved Three Times, and learned the three character primer.

IPC ~極端的幸存者。當(dāng)學(xué)生們把動物按照主要的動物群體進(jìn)行分組時,班級表現(xiàn)出了更出色的團隊合作。同時,孩子們繼續(xù)使用計算機進(jìn)行相關(guān)研究項目。學(xué)生們兩人一組,他們的研究對象包括哺乳動物、爬行動物、兩棲動物、鳥類、魚類和昆蟲。在IPC課程中,同學(xué)們展示了極大的好奇心,也展示了自己的知識。在英語積極學(xué)習(xí)中,Andy和Lydia、Eric和Sunny在一堂側(cè)重名詞和不同名詞類型的英語課上合作得很好。同學(xué)們把名詞分成不同的類別,并用有趣的句子來表達(dá)他們的理解。在數(shù)學(xué)課上,我們進(jìn)行了速度競賽! Eric練習(xí)他的速度回答乘法問題,他在一分鐘內(nèi)回答了20多個問題,真的是相當(dāng)厲害!在藝術(shù)課上,同學(xué)們討論了是什么激發(fā)了藝術(shù)家的創(chuàng)造力,我們用各種材料制作了微型藝術(shù)品。本周的中文課主題為“中秋”,我們學(xué)習(xí)了課文《中秋之夜》,課外文化閱讀《中秋習(xí)俗》,并制作了中秋主題海報。

In IPC~ Extreme Survivors. The class showing more fantastic teamwork as the students put animals into the main animal groups. The children continued with a research project on the computer. The students worked in pairs. They focused on animals from the following groups ~ Mammals, Reptiles, Amphibians, Birds, Fish and Insects. The class have shown a lot of knowledge and curiosity during the IPC topic. In English~ Active Learning, Andy and Lydia, Eric and Sunny working great together during an English lesson which focused on Nouns and different noun types. The class sorted noun into categories and made interesting sentences to show their understanding! In speed Maths, Eric practiced his speed at answering Multiplication Questions ~ he answered over 20 questions in a minute! In At class the students discussed what inspires artists to create, we worked on making mini artworks with a variety of materials. This week's Chinese class theme is "Mid-Autumn", we learned the text "Mid-Autumn night", and did extracurricular culture reading "Mid-Autumn customs", we even made several Mid-Autumn posters to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival!

在數(shù)學(xué)課上,學(xué)生們把口頭的數(shù)學(xué)表達(dá)式翻譯成代數(shù)表達(dá)式,這不僅對數(shù)學(xué)學(xué)習(xí),而且對提高他們的英語獨寫能力也很有幫助。恰逢中秋佳節(jié),我們在中國文化課上為高年級的孩子準(zhǔn)備了月餅制作活動。在觀看完中秋月餅的相關(guān)視頻之后,我們一同前往餐廳,孩子們非常興奮。大家對月餅的制作,以及月餅背后的故事表現(xiàn)出極大的興趣。在月餅制作過程中,同學(xué)們小心翼翼,非常專注,在老師的指導(dǎo)下,一步步完成“作品”,最后大功告成,所有人都品嘗到了美味的餅皮月餅。這是同學(xué)們第一次自己親自動手制作冰皮月餅,真的是非常有意義!

In Math class, the students were translating verbal mathematical expressions into algebraic expressions, this will assist them in not only for math academics but also for their improvement in English literacy. The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming, we arranged mooncake making activity for the students in Chinese culture class. After watching the video of Mid-Autumn Festival moon cakes, we went to the restaurant together, the children were very excited. They all showed great interest in making mooncakes and the stories behind the mooncake. In the process of making moo cakes, the students were carefully and attentively, under the guidance of the teacher, they completed the "work" step by step. They made it! Everyone tasted the delicious snow skin mooncake. This is the first time that students have made mooncakes by themselves, which is really very meaningful!
