The sky is clear blue and the flower smile beautifully. Every Monday morning, each grade of our school will hold the flag-raising ceremony in turn. Today, class one grade 10 hosted a flag-raising ceremony with the theme of Minimalism life. Dennis and Anita presided over the ceremony, Cynthia and Eric give us a unique speech.
Cynthia and Eric introduced to us a brand-new way of life - minimalism and share some helpful idea and concept base on their own experience.
The word “Minimalism” was derived from the word “minimal”. It means to only buy and hold the things that really necessary to your life, and reduce the pressure of living by doing so. Generally, it’s “C.U.T.”, which means “Cut-off Unnecessary Things”
Minimalism is a life style that doing subtraction, to remove some cumbersome ways of life. For example, get rid of some unnecessary entertainment, communication or work, in order to get more time to do those things which are really useful.
Lao Zi once said: “If something can benefit your life, it’s not truly useful.” We always think that buying lots of things is a symbol of wealth, but we might feel that something benefits you becomes something important. It’s like you have been “kidnapped” by these items. In modern days, a life without too much things can make us feel simple and fresh. We should experience the happiness that not being controlled by objects.
Sometimes people call Minimalism “A life without desire”. But actually it’s not. It only keeps the things you really need. Go discover the things you need is a journey to your heart, and find your true self.
"
We hope that we can live a Minimalism life, and find our true self through this.
