Dear Parents and Students,

親愛的家長(zhǎng)們和學(xué)生們，

The first weeks of the 2019-20 school year have been fantastic. I've enjoyed connecting with many of our new students and hearing tales of summer adventures from many of our returning students. Students have been settling into the rhythm of the schedule each day and adjusting to new routines. A few students have had schedule changes as teachers have assessed students’ skills and made recommendations for placement. We have also had the opportunity to reduce class sizes in an attempt to keep our number of students per class to 12 or less. Smiles abound at lunchtime where students can connect with their friends, enjoy a rest after lunch, or spend time reviewing their lessons for the afternoon.

2019-2020學(xué)年開學(xué)這三周，我們過(guò)得非常精彩。我很喜歡和我們的新生進(jìn)行交流，以及聽取我們返校生講述他們暑期的各種經(jīng)歷。目前，學(xué)生們已經(jīng)適應(yīng)了每天的日程安排，并能很好的融入到每天的生活中。同時(shí)，我們老師也對(duì)一些學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的實(shí)際情況，做出了評(píng)估并給予課程調(diào)整的建議。我們還根據(jù)上課的實(shí)際情況減少班級(jí)規(guī)模，盡量將每個(gè)班級(jí)的學(xué)生人數(shù)保持在12人甚至更少。午餐時(shí)間是同學(xué)們交友和互相交流學(xué)習(xí)的時(shí)間，從他們洋溢著笑容的臉上可以看出他們很享受這段時(shí)光。

The school conducted their Student Council elections and I am pleased to share the following results:

Under the guidance of Dean of Student, the Council met and started their first project. Their focus was on setting up policies and regulations to insure a clean classroom and learning environment for everyone. They separated the students into several groups and then assigned each group workdays. My kudos to the Council and I look forward to many more wonderful ideas from them this year.

在學(xué)校學(xué)生處老師的指導(dǎo)下，學(xué)生會(huì)已經(jīng)進(jìn)行了第一次會(huì)議，并且開始實(shí)施他們的會(huì)議決議。這次的重點(diǎn)是制定學(xué)生管理規(guī)范條例，確保學(xué)生們擁有干凈的教室和良好的學(xué)習(xí)環(huán)境。他們將學(xué)生們按小組形式進(jìn)行劃分，然后分配好每個(gè)小組的工作時(shí)間去進(jìn)行環(huán)境衛(wèi)生的保持。我為學(xué)生們感到驕傲，并期待著他們今年提出更多精彩的想法。

Teacher’s Day was a great success as well. First, our ZWIE family treated the staff to an amazing evening in Guangzhou! Our students also recognized the teachers with flowers that were delivered by the students to the teachers. It was such a wonderful gesture and so appreciated by the staff. Please see the pictures so you can also share in this day of recognition!

上周我們度過(guò)了一個(gè)非常精彩和成功的教師節(jié)。首先，我們中黃教育集團(tuán)為我們的教職工們舉辦了一場(chǎng)精彩絕倫的晚會(huì)，其次教師節(jié)當(dāng)天我們的學(xué)生們也給我們敬愛的老師們贈(zèng)送了鮮花。孩子們真的很棒，老師們也很感動(dòng)。大家可以從這些圖片當(dāng)中和我們一起感受這些美妙的時(shí)刻。

We are excited to announce that the SchoolPal site is up and running! You arrived home on Thursday with the password and instructions on how to access the site. For our new families, the SchoolPal site lets you see the teacher’s grade book that displays your student’s grades, homework and assignments. I ask that you remember to allow the teachers sufficient time o get assignments and tests graded and entered. If you need assistance accessing the program please contact Academic Department.
