August sees the start of the new school year after a long summer holiday. 悠長(zhǎng)假期之后，我們?cè)诎嗽碌子瓉?lái)了曼徹斯通新學(xué)年

At MIS, it was wonderful to see the enthusiastic, smiling faces of our returning students, along with the excited looks from students arriving at MIS for the very first time.

開(kāi)學(xué)伊始，在曼徹斯通校園里，隨處可見(jiàn)返校生和新生們那一張張熱情洋溢的笑臉、一雙雙興奮驚喜的眼神。

Induction Days at MIS 曼校新學(xué)年啟幕

20 August Tuesday afternoon saw our students meeting their teachers and getting familiar with the surroundings.

8月22日：開(kāi)學(xué)前一日，學(xué)生和家長(zhǎng)們提前來(lái)到學(xué)校，認(rèn)識(shí)老師、熟悉環(huán)境。

21 August The first day of a new school year! It was fantastic to see the school buzzing and full of life again.

22 August The Juniors CCA Fair gave students and their parents a chance to learn more about what activities are on offer this term and what interests them the most.

8月22日：CCA學(xué)員招募會(huì)為學(xué)生和家長(zhǎng)提供了一個(gè)近距離了解課程及發(fā)掘他們真正所愛(ài)的機(jī)會(huì)。

Similar to last year, we will continue to offer activities that run all year such as Yearbook Club, Choir, Eco Council and EPQ. The CCA programme has also retained some extremely popular activities as requested by students and staff such as Table Tennis, Arts & Crafts, Horse Riding, Golf and Football. With a new year also comes new and exciting prospects and there are lots of new activities to choose from such as Coding Club, Lego Club, Textiles, Drama Production and Bouldering at our brand new custom built Bouldering Centre.

本學(xué)年，曼徹斯通保留了第一學(xué)年的趣味活動(dòng)，如年鑒、合唱團(tuán)、生態(tài)委員會(huì)、EPQ等。同時(shí)第一學(xué)年最受師生歡迎的CCA也將在第二學(xué)年繼續(xù)開(kāi)展，如乒乓球、藝術(shù)與手工藝、足球等。當(dāng)然第二學(xué)年也將帶給學(xué)生更多全新、激動(dòng)人心的活動(dòng)，如編碼、樂(lè)高俱樂(lè)部、紡織品制作、戲劇制作和在新建攀巖區(qū)域進(jìn)行的攀巖課程。

23 August Our first year academic results were outstanding and well deserved for our hard-working students.

8月23日：第一學(xué)年的成績(jī)出爐，同學(xué)們經(jīng)過(guò)辛苦的努力，取得了優(yōu)異了成績(jī)。

29 August "Meet the Teachers" Both Juniors and Seniors students' parents had a chance to meet the teachers and hear about the curriculum and subject learning in the upcoming year.

8月29日：針對(duì)小學(xué)和中學(xué)的不同情況，曼徹斯通舉辦了家長(zhǎng)教師見(jiàn)面會(huì)。學(xué)生家長(zhǎng)們有機(jī)會(huì)與老師就課程設(shè)置和本學(xué)年的學(xué)習(xí)安排進(jìn)行深入溝通。

Overall Enhancement 新學(xué)年新起點(diǎn)

As MIS grows, our second year provides enhanced CCAs, EAL, PE, Curriculum Enrichment, Art, Music performances, Parent Forums and Information Sessions.

經(jīng)過(guò)一年的教學(xué)實(shí)踐，曼校今年為學(xué)生們提供了更加豐富多樣的高質(zhì)量教學(xué)及管理安排——在課外輔助活動(dòng)、英語(yǔ)助學(xué)、體育教學(xué)、課程多樣化、藝術(shù)、音樂(lè)表演、家校溝通等方面，均有明顯的提升。

EAL 英語(yǔ)助學(xué)

With more teachers, our EAL department has gone from strength to strength. Non-fluent English speakers participate in a robust intensive EAL programme. Preparation has began for Cambridge PET and First for Schools or IELTS exams.

我們?cè)谟⒄Z(yǔ)助學(xué)方面投入了更多的師資力量，EAL部門今年以全新陣容向?qū)W生開(kāi)放。針對(duì)英語(yǔ)交流不流暢的學(xué)生們今年需要參與EAL強(qiáng)化項(xiàng)目，而針對(duì)需參加劍橋PET和IELTS考試的學(xué)生備考安排也在準(zhǔn)備中。

Parent Forum on Information Sessions 家長(zhǎng)講座

Parent Forums in 2018/2019 were very well attended. With parent feedback on what they feel is important we have a calendar full of Parent Forums for this year relating to Well-being, Mental Health, and Support at Home amongst many other topics.

去年，家長(zhǎng)講座定期順利開(kāi)展，我們也得到很多家長(zhǎng)的反饋，了解到家長(zhǎng)們所關(guān)心的事宜。今年，曼徹斯通的日程表中排滿了家長(zhǎng)講座，內(nèi)容涵蓋從積極心理健康到家庭支持的各方面。

Physical Education 體育教育

This year, MIS sports teams will be entering a brand new league, ISL, where they will regularly compete against other local international schools. The primary focus is on three core sports; volleyball, basketball and football with teams from the following; Under 11's (Years 5 and 6), Under 14's (Years 7,8,9), Under 19's (Years 10,11,12,13). Students will compete both at Home and Away in other events, participating in swimming, tennis, bouldering, cross country, badminton and table tennis.

今年，曼徹斯通球隊(duì)也會(huì)加入ISL聯(lián)賽，將在ISL聯(lián)賽中與其他當(dāng)?shù)氐膰?guó)際學(xué)校一爭(zhēng)高下。當(dāng)前聚焦重點(diǎn)在三項(xiàng)核心運(yùn)動(dòng)：排球、籃球、足球，三大球隊(duì)將按年齡組進(jìn)行分隊(duì)(11歲以下的五六年級(jí)、14歲以下的七八九年級(jí)、19歲以下的十至十三年級(jí))。曼徹斯通的學(xué)生們也將有機(jī)會(huì)在國(guó)內(nèi)外參加其他項(xiàng)目的比賽，包括游泳、網(wǎng)球、攀巖、越野、羽毛球和乒乓球。

Students’ Mental Health 積極心理健康

As well as weekly well-being lessons, MIS has appointed an in house school counsellor. Our fully trained UK counsellor is on hand to help any student who might be facing challenges in their life.

除去每周一節(jié)的積極心理健康課之外，學(xué)校設(shè)置了一名在校心理咨詢師。我們的英國(guó)咨詢師隨時(shí)可為正面臨人生挑戰(zhàn)的學(xué)生們提供心理援助。

Music Event Performances 音樂(lè)演出盛事

In our first year MIS attended and organised many big events. We took part in the wonderful ISCMS Festival in Shanghai and made the successful bid to bring the 2020 event here to MIS and Shenzhen. The ‘flagship’ Choir began this year with a voluntary sign up of more than 60 students.

去年曼徹斯通參加并組織了很多大型音樂(lè)演出活動(dòng)。我們參加了上海舉辦的ISCMS大型音樂(lè)會(huì)，而現(xiàn)在我們成功申請(qǐng)到了2020年該盛事的舉辦權(quán)，將這項(xiàng)大型國(guó)際音樂(lè)會(huì)帶到了深圳。而曼徹斯通合唱團(tuán)也將在今年擴(kuò)展到六十人以上規(guī)模的大型合唱團(tuán)。
