本周初中的社會科學(xué)課上,我們進(jìn)行了一次創(chuàng)造性的活動,讓學(xué)生們把世界地理的五個主題結(jié)合起來。一旦我們分清楚了自然地理和人文地理之間的區(qū)別,在這一點(diǎn)上強(qiáng)調(diào)了解這五個主題對研究世界地理領(lǐng)域的重要性是非常有益的。

IPC是什么呢?通過IPC我們會了解到什么呢?IPC國際小學(xué)課程集科學(xué)、歷史、地理、ICT、戲劇和藝術(shù)等學(xué)科于一體,在學(xué)科學(xué)習(xí)、個人發(fā)展、國際思維發(fā)面都獲得進(jìn)步,真的是很棒的一個課程。本周,我們在IPC課堂上使用精細(xì)動作創(chuàng)建了一個拼貼。孩子們還完成了第一個周末新聞。每周我們都會用英語回顧周末,看看我們做了什么,我們有什么感受等等。英語課上,我們從語音開始,識別聲音和字母的形成。這周我們了解的字母之一是s!我們發(fā)現(xiàn)很多單詞都有字母s,比如陽光sun、沙子sand、蛇snake、傻蛋silly、襪子sock、三明治sandwich……在課堂上,我們總會有一些每個人都可以參與的活動讓學(xué)生完成,從字母的組成,還有剪切和粘貼形狀在字母上!這周孩子們?yōu)閷W(xué)習(xí)的字母做了很多的努力。數(shù)學(xué)課上,我們學(xué)習(xí)了識別數(shù)字,我們的周圍可以看到很多不同的數(shù)字,每一組同學(xué)都可以看幾個不同的數(shù)字,一起完成活動。我們還學(xué)會識別物體的大小,根據(jù)它們的大小來進(jìn)行排序。收獲滿滿的一周!

Starting to look at IPC! What it means, what we might be looking at when we do IPC. IPC is a collection of - science, history, geography, ICT, drama and art all bundled into one. We used our fine motor skills to create a collage for our IPC display in class. Our first weekend news! Every week, we will recap our weekend in English. Looking at what we did, how we felt and who was there. We started phonics with recognizing sounds and letter formation. We are looking at the letter 's' this week! We found out that many words have the letter 's' in it. Sun, Sand, Snake, Silly, Sock, Sandwich... In phonics we will always have a couple of activities out for everyone to complete, from letter formation to using our fine motor skills to cut and glue shapes onto letters! We have worked very hard on our first sounds this week. In Maths, recognizing numbers, how many different representations of numbers that we can see around us. Each group looked at a couple of different numbers, working together to complete the activities. Looking at bigger and smaller, ordering objects. What a wonderful week!

在繼續(xù)進(jìn)行數(shù)學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)之前,我們先通過一些有趣的游戲和活動來回顧了一下語音。老師非常喜歡看到孩子們做數(shù)學(xué)題時的那種興奮……他們幾乎忘了他們在做作業(yè)! 音樂課上,我們演唱了歌曲Bingo,孩子們很喜歡這首歌。我們通過聽熊、鳥和狗的聲音來學(xué)習(xí)聲音的“高和低”。最后,孩子們通過聽鋼琴上高低不同的音來創(chuàng)造了山峰。本周,孩子們還通過合作完成了一次挑戰(zhàn)!孩子們兩人一組,用棉花糖和意大利面建造他們所能建造的最高的塔。在研究了一些成功的結(jié)構(gòu)后,我們對棉花糖進(jìn)行了味道測試,以確保它們是安全的(非常重要),然后我們開始施工。最后,我們建造了三座“雄偉”的塔,挑戰(zhàn)成功的孩子們非常開心!在探索孩子們最喜歡的陸地食肉動物之一—蛇的時候,我們繼續(xù)練習(xí)了精細(xì)動作。老師向孩子們展示了兩種制作蛇的方法,一種是折疊蛇,另一種是用圓環(huán)做成一條鏈子,孩子們選擇他們認(rèn)為最有效的方法,制作了自己的蛇。

We started to recap some of our phonics learning with fun games and activities before continuing our Maths work on partitioning and practicing our times tables. The teacher really love how excited they get when they see themselves in the Maths problems... They almost forget they're doing work! In the music class, we sang BINGO with movements and they loved this song. Then we learnt “high and low” by listening to the sounds of bear, bird and dog. After that we created a picture of mountain by listening to high and low sounds on the piano. This week, we challenged the students to work in pairs to build the tallest tower they could using only marshmallows and spaghetti. After studying some successful structures, and taste testing to our marshmallows to make sure they were safe (very important) we started construction. In the end, we had 3 mighty towers and a lot of happy children. We finished the day by reading a book together while the kids helped tidy the room by eating all the unused marshmallows. We also practised our fine motor skills as we explored one of the children's favourite land predators: the snake. Children were shown two methods of how they could make a snake, one involved folding and the other creating a chain using loops. Children then chose which method they thought would work best and created their snake.

在“腦電波”單元中,孩子們開始使用他們的計算機(jī)技能來研究關(guān)于我們大腦的信息和圖像。每一組同學(xué)都被分配了大腦的不同部分,然后開始研究和描述它們的主要功能。我們還觀察了當(dāng)大腦中的信息被阻斷時,我們的身體會發(fā)生什么變化! “找誰呢... ?”本周,同學(xué)們還在繼續(xù)互相了解,發(fā)展友誼。大家在教室里進(jìn)行信息搜尋。他們需要問關(guān)鍵問題,并找到他們清單上信息的答案! 在中國歷史與文化課中,我們從幾大板塊,如中國的語言、傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日、不同場合與對應(yīng)的禮儀、民族服飾的演變、不同地區(qū)與代表性食物、中華民族優(yōu)良傳統(tǒng)等,對中國的歷史和文化進(jìn)行了概述,目的是讓學(xué)生對中國歷史與文化有大概的認(rèn)知,便于今后對各大版塊進(jìn)行更加深入細(xì)致地學(xué)習(xí)。

IPC ~ Brainwave. The students began using their computer skills to research information and images about our brain. Each group were given a different part of the brain to research and describe the main functions. We also looked at what happens to our body when the messages in our brain are blocked! 'Find Someone Who....?'This week our our class continued to learn about each other and develop friendships. The children went on an information hunt in the classroom. They had to ask key questions and find the answers to the information on their checklist! In Chinese history and culture, we learnt about the language, traditional Chinese festivals, different etiquette, the evolution of national costumes, different regions and representative food, fine tradition of the Chinese nation, etc., The purpose is to letstudents have a general understanding of Chinese history and culture, so that they can study the major sections more deeply and carefully in the future.

本周初中的社會科學(xué)課上,我們進(jìn)行了一次創(chuàng)造性的活動,讓學(xué)生們把世界地理的五個主題結(jié)合起來。一旦我們分清楚了自然地理和人文地理之間的區(qū)別,在這一點(diǎn)上強(qiáng)調(diào)了解這五個主題對研究世界地理領(lǐng)域的重要性是非常有益的。首先,給學(xué)生一個基本的解釋,展示這些主題之間的差異: 位置、地點(diǎn)、地區(qū)、運(yùn)動以及人與環(huán)境的互動。為了加強(qiáng)他們對這個主題的了解,我們有一個小項目,每個學(xué)生用圖表的形式做了一張大海報,使主題之間的聯(lián)系更加清晰。除了加深學(xué)生對主題的理解以及如何使用它們的方法,該項目的目的還在于讓學(xué)生協(xié)調(diào)自己的工作以及團(tuán)隊任務(wù)。同學(xué)們在這個項目有極大的參與度,現(xiàn)在他們已經(jīng)可以在學(xué)習(xí)地理的時候很好地使用這五個主題。除了這個項目,本周的一次科學(xué)課上,同學(xué)們還完成了一個關(guān)于“科學(xué)方法”的科學(xué)項目。大家用紙、膠帶、剪刀和稻草制作了一個火箭模型。通過吹破稻草來測試每個人的火箭能飛多遠(yuǎn)。這個項目的目的是根據(jù)每個學(xué)生的假設(shè),改變一個變量(火箭的長度),看看這個改變會讓火箭飛得更遠(yuǎn)還是更近。每次實(shí)驗(yàn)的結(jié)果都證明,火箭飛行的時間越長,飛行的次數(shù)就越少。學(xué)生們得出的結(jié)論是,火箭上的物質(zhì)越多,它的飛行時間就越短。計算機(jī)課上,學(xué)生們使用scratch程序?qū)W習(xí)代碼塊。老師用scratch來教授學(xué)生基本的編程和動畫?,F(xiàn)在,同學(xué)們已經(jīng)制作了一個比賽游戲來展示運(yùn)動。他們目前正在學(xué)習(xí)如何制作一個打字游戲,真是令人興奮!

This week on the social study class, we had a creative activity in order to have the students integrate the five themes of World Geography. Once we had demystify the difference between physical and human geography, it wasuseful at this point to highlight the importance of understanding those five themes when it comes to studying the field of World Geography in general. At first, the students were presented with a basic explanation showing the difference between those themes which are: location, place, regions, movement,and human-environment interaction. Then, in order to strengthen their knowledgeof the subject, we had a small project where the students made a big poster inthe kind of a diagram, and where the interconnection between the themes wasclearer. As well as attempting to clarify the student's comprehension of thethemes and the methods how they are being used, the project's aim was also tohave them coordinate their work as well a working as a team. At the end, the students showed great participation in the project, and now they can use those five themes when they study the field of geography in general. In Science class, the students completed a Science Project in relation to the scientific method. Students created a model of a rocket using paper, tape,scissors and a straw. The students tested the distance their rockets would goby blowing through the straw. The aim of this project is to change one variable(the length of the rocket) to see if the change will make the rocket go furtheror go less based on each students' hypothesis. The result of each experiment proved that the longer the rocket, the less it travelled. Students came to a conclusion that the more material on the rocket showed that it did not travellonger. In ICT Class, the students were learning block coding usingthe program scratch. We use scratch to teach the students basic coding and animation. Our students have already made a racing game to show movement. Theyare currently learning how to make a typing game. The class is a lot of fun andexciting.
