深圳楓葉高中結(jié)業(yè)典禮 | From Dreams to Destiny: 從夢(mèng)想到命運(yùn)

10年級(jí)學(xué)生在這最后一周期間也保持和整個(gè)學(xué)年一樣的忙碌節(jié)奏。他們的第一項(xiàng)任務(wù)就是完成本學(xué)期最后兩門(mén)課程的期末考試，其中包括深圳校區(qū)史上第一次BC省級(jí)數(shù)學(xué)評(píng)估。之后他們?cè)诶蠋煹膸ьI(lǐng)下在深圳市內(nèi)進(jìn)行了為期兩天的戶外修學(xué)旅行。返校后學(xué)生們?yōu)殡x任教師舉辦了告別派對(duì)，他們?yōu)槊恳晃浑x任老師準(zhǔn)備了一份精美的相冊(cè)。這一學(xué)年在周五早上由丁傲然和徐王燏主持的 “Where Amazing Lasts” 閉幕式上結(jié)束。閉幕式以皮錦潤(rùn)整理制作的主題PPT開(kāi)場(chǎng)，里面記錄了這一年來(lái)學(xué)校發(fā)生的特別活動(dòng)和精彩瞬間，然后吐瑪利茲克爾江為大家?guī)?lái)了精彩的演講，記錄了她對(duì)本學(xué)年的記憶，并在演講結(jié)束后為大家?guī)?lái)了一首名為 “Dreams to Destiny” 的彈唱。最后由高中校長(zhǎng)為大家?guī)?lái)了題為 “從夢(mèng)想到命運(yùn)”的演講，他談到了我們的夢(mèng)想如何為我們創(chuàng)造一個(gè)方向，但是我們的選擇將決定我們是否能到達(dá)夢(mèng)想的終點(diǎn)。

As happened throughout the year, our Grade 10’s was kept busy in the final week of school. The first task was to finish their finals for the Semester two courses which included completing the first BC Provincial Numeracy Assessment for Shenzhen Academy students. They then went on a two-day excursion in beautiful Shenzhen including a full day at the Happy Valley Theme Park. Students returned for the Farewell Party where students gave a custom-made photo album to each of the departing teachers. The year closed out on Friday morning in the “Where Amazing Lasts” Closing Ceremony hosted by Andy and Tiffany. The ceremony opened with a PPT slide show on the theme which was put together by Sherlock and showed a history of the “Amazing” special events and highlights from the year and then featured a student speech by Harmony with her memories of the year followed by a beautiful singing of “Dream It Possible” by Delacey. Mr. Borthistle gave a speech called from “Dreams to Destiny” where he talked about how our dreams create a direction for us, but it is our choices that will determine if we reach the destiny of our dreams.

閉幕式的最終環(huán)節(jié)是頒獎(jiǎng)儀式，我們準(zhǔn)備了各類不同獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)已表彰學(xué)生在不同領(lǐng)域的成就。最值得自豪的是，我們有8名學(xué)生在整個(gè)學(xué)年取得了綜合得分為86分的好成績(jī)，他們被授予優(yōu)秀學(xué)生獎(jiǎng)。這是我們建校以來(lái)的一項(xiàng)杰出成就，這個(gè)名單包括所有五名獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金學(xué)生，獲獎(jiǎng)學(xué)生為：王安涵、丁傲然、徐王燏、鄧斯元、吐瑪利茲克爾江、高駿馳、鄭雯文、和皮錦潤(rùn)。其他主要獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)是楓葉成就獎(jiǎng)，以表彰他們?cè)谛Ｍ馊〉玫某删?，獲獎(jiǎng)學(xué)生為：高駿馳、徐王燏、丁傲然、皮錦潤(rùn)和王安涵。卓越領(lǐng)導(dǎo)獎(jiǎng)的獲得者為皮錦潤(rùn)，以表彰他的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力本學(xué)年對(duì)班級(jí)的督導(dǎo)和服務(wù)。最佳進(jìn)步將的獲得這位王亦如和解晨澤，全面發(fā)展獎(jiǎng)的獲得者是高駿馳和鄭雯文授予Kyle和Jenny。年度杰出學(xué)生獎(jiǎng)的獲得這是徐王燏，她和其他兩名同學(xué)在評(píng)選中競(jìng)爭(zhēng)激烈，他們的分?jǐn)?shù)只差1.4分 。

The ceremony closed with awards being given out to students to celebrate their accomplishments. We are most proud that eight (8) students made the Roll of Excellence for achieving grades of 86% or higher for their achievement over the entire school year! This is an outstanding accomplishment in the first year of our school and this list included all five scholarship students and was given to Ann, Andy, Tiffany, Daisy, Harmony, Kyle, Jenny and Sherlock. Other major awards given were the Maple Leaf Certificate of Achievement for winning prizes outside the school and awarded to Kyle, Tiffany, Andy, Sherlock and Ann. The Student Leadership Award of Excellence for demonstration of outstanding leadership went to Sherlock for his outstanding leadership, service and being class monitor throughout the year. The Most Improved Student Award went to Erru and Steven and the Award of Comprehensive Excellence went to Kyle and Jenny for their excellent performance and citizenship throughout the year. The Top Student of the year, in a very close contest with two other classmates, was awarded to Tiffany. The top three students were very tightly bunched together being separated by only 1.4% points.

蔡基業(yè)同學(xué)獲得了第一個(gè)Orca獎(jiǎng)，因?yàn)樗撵`活性和自我認(rèn)知能力，蔡淮濱獲得了最佳英語(yǔ)進(jìn)步獎(jiǎng)，解晨澤獲得了優(yōu)秀社區(qū)服務(wù)獎(jiǎng)，駱奕舟獲得了最佳學(xué)校精神獎(jiǎng)，而且慈佳殷、唐健、吐瑪利茲克爾江和劉家豪分別獲得了在藝術(shù)、體育和多媒體領(lǐng)域的特殊才藝獎(jiǎng)。

Jack received the first Orca Award for his Resiliency and for Knowing Himself, James receiving Most Improved English speaker, Steven received the Award of Excellent Community Service, Louie the Award for Best School Spirit, and Yannie, Kryon, Harmony and Eric being recognized for Outstanding specialization in the Arts, Sports, and Media respectively.

Final Principal’s Speech - From Dreams to Destiny:

我們的這一年從談?wù)搲?mèng)想開(kāi)始。我在本學(xué)年開(kāi)始的時(shí)候和你們分享了這樣一句話：“在夢(mèng)想成真之前，你必須要先有夢(mèng)想?！?這句話出自 A. P. J. Abdul Kalam。你在一生中將要成就的一切都是因?yàn)槟銚碛械膲?mèng)想而產(chǎn)生的。

We started our year together by talking about Dreams. A quote that I shared at the beginning of the year was, "You have to dream before your dreams can come true." A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Everything that you will accomplish in life in one way or another comes about because of a dream that you have had.

我曾經(jīng)問(wèn)過(guò)幾位同學(xué)你們的夢(mèng)想是什么，你們是這樣回答的......你們還記得是怎么回答的嗎?<舉例> I asked a few of you in your class what your dreams were and here is what you said…do you remember what you said about your dreams?

Sometimes movies portray destiny as being something that is out of the control of a person, like Luke Skywalker in Star Wars or Simba in the Lion King, but I don’t agree with that idea because you are the ultimate person in charge of your destiny. Even Luke and Simba had to make choices so that they could fulfill their dreams and reach their destiny, it didn’t just happen. You need dreams in order to reach your destiny and that is the path that each of you are. Don’t forget about your dreams, and the choices you need to make so that your dream becomes your destiny.

這是我最后一次為你們致辭，我感到非常自豪和些許悲傷。今年是大家辛勤付出的一年，學(xué)習(xí)新科目、提高英語(yǔ)水平、和學(xué)生老師們一起享受快樂(lè)的學(xué)校時(shí)光，我將永遠(yuǎn)珍藏這些美好的回憶。我下學(xué)年將調(diào)任上海校區(qū)，但我期待有時(shí)間回來(lái)深圳看望我們的學(xué)生，特別是能回來(lái)參加他們?cè)?021年6月的畢業(yè)典禮，親眼看到咱們這些優(yōu)秀的學(xué)生畢業(yè)。所有老師都對(duì)學(xué)生們?cè)谶@一學(xué)年對(duì)學(xué)習(xí)和各項(xiàng)活動(dòng)的投入給予充分的認(rèn)可，我們也深感榮幸能夠和這么優(yōu)秀的學(xué)生們一起奮斗。

It is with great pride as well as some sadness that I make my final speech to you all. This year has been a tremendous year of hard work, learning new subjects, improving English and having fun and I will carry these wonderful memories with me always. As I move on to Shanghai campus next year, I look forward to returning to visit you and especially to attend the Inaugural Graduation ceremony in June 2021 to see all of you amazing students graduate. All teachers have admired the commitment to excellence that your children have demonstrated throughout the year in every activity and it has truly been a privilege and honour to work alongside you this year.

我在此代表連老師和我自己，感謝你們的家長(zhǎng)在本學(xué)年所給予我們的支持。新辦一所學(xué)校是一項(xiàng)艱苦的工作，因?yàn)橐龀鲈S多決定并建立新的系統(tǒng)。我為我們今年所完成的工作感到自豪，同時(shí)也清楚的認(rèn)識(shí)到為了創(chuàng)建一所高質(zhì)量的學(xué)校，為學(xué)生提供就讀世界一流大學(xué)的機(jī)會(huì)，我們還需要付出很多的努力。我多次和你們強(qiáng)調(diào)這一點(diǎn)，雖然我們是一所新的學(xué)校，辦學(xué)規(guī)模也不大，但我們?cè)谡n程設(shè)置方面很靈活，對(duì)學(xué)生的個(gè)人關(guān)注度和投入也更高，這樣可以幫助你們以高分畢業(yè)，為申請(qǐng)更好的大學(xué)做好準(zhǔn)備。請(qǐng)?jiān)谙聦W(xué)年給予新執(zhí)行校長(zhǎng)兼BC課程校長(zhǎng)和我一樣的支持，因?yàn)樗龑⒔犹嫖依^續(xù)履行學(xué)校的使命。

On behalf of Ms. Lian and I, I would like to thank your parents for all their support received during this school year. It is hard work opening a new school as there are many decisions to be made and new systems to set up. I am proud of the work that we have done this year and know there remains much more to keep working on to produce a high-quality school which provides students an opportunity to attend a world-class university. As I have said to the you many times, while we are small and new, we are also flexible in our programming and provide students with a high-degree of personal attention to help them achieve a quality graduation and prepare a strong university application. Please give the new Head of School and BC Principal the same support which you have provided me as they carry on with the mission of the Academy.

祝大家有一個(gè)愉快的暑假，也希望你們未來(lái)幾年在深圳市楓葉學(xué)校度過(guò)一段美好的時(shí)光。
