初來中加

As a fresh in SCCSC

我是高三七班的劉奕伽。在這個申請季，憑借7.5分的雅思和94分的GPA，我拿到了英屬哥倫比亞、滑鐵盧、西蒙菲莎和西安大略大學(xué)的預(yù)錄取通知書。在去年的AP考試中，我得到了微積分五分，微觀經(jīng)濟(jì)五分，和化學(xué)四分的成績。

在中考前，初中班主任老師就推薦我來中加。她認(rèn)為中加學(xué)校更加個性化，有更多的發(fā)展空間，學(xué)生不是被強(qiáng)迫著學(xué)習(xí)，而是有效的激發(fā)學(xué)習(xí)動力。聽了初中班主任老師的建議，我來到了中加學(xué)校。這是我第一次認(rèn)識中加學(xué)校。

I am Yijia Liu from Class 7, Grade 12. Withoverall 7.5 in IELTS and 94 points in GPA, I got the pre-admission letters from British Columbia, Waterloo, Simon Fraser and UWO. I got 5 in calculus, 5 in microeconomics, and 4 in chemistry. Before the high school entrance examination, my middle school head teacher recommended me to study in SCCSC. She believed that SCCSC is more personalized and well-rounded for the development of students instead of exam-oriented education school. Students are not forced to study, but effectively study spontaneously based on strong interest and motivation.

Grasp the Opportunity

我的老師告訴我們，機(jī)遇是十分可貴的，但是能不能抓住就要看自己的積淀了。對我來說，在中加學(xué)校的三年，我成長了許多，中加學(xué)校是一個充滿機(jī)遇的地方，是一個讓人想要為之努力的地方。我們學(xué)校有很多課外活動，高二那一年我擔(dān)任了鋼琴社的副社長以及模擬聯(lián)合國社團(tuán)的學(xué)術(shù)總監(jiān)。我在其中得到很多鍛煉，尤其是性格方面，我原來是一個比較內(nèi)向的人，而模聯(lián)的活動讓我變得自信起來。

I was told that whether I can seize the valuable chance depends on personal experience and wisdom. For me, I have been much mature for the 3 years studying in SCCSC.SCCSC is a place full of opportunities and a place for young people to fulfill dreams. There are rich extracurricular activities in and out campus. In my sophomore year, as the vice President of the piano club and the academic director of Model United Nations, I sharpened my mind and especially reshapedmy character. The most prominent change is gaining much confidence.

好奇與行動力

Curiosity and mobility

我認(rèn)為什么事情只要發(fā)自內(nèi)心地去做，什么都難不倒。我平時的愛好就是看美劇，但是在看的同時，我會注意一些劇中出現(xiàn)的表達(dá)。在看到不懂的單詞的時候，我會立刻去查是什么意思。也許第一遍我不會記住，但是反反復(fù)復(fù)，就會在腦子里留下一個印象，再遇到就會認(rèn)得出來。好奇，其實就是把不懂的趕快弄懂，一拖再拖只會讓自己一無所獲。這就可以延伸到行動力了，把自己的想法付諸行動后，才能一步一步到達(dá)自己的目的地。在整個高中的學(xué)習(xí)中，找到適合自己的方法是非常必要的。我利用碎片時間學(xué)習(xí)，讓自己壓力太大反而會事倍功半，目標(biāo)是前進(jìn)的動力。

在學(xué)習(xí)的過程中，許多老師都給了我很大的幫助，老師們鼓勵我、支持我，幫助我提意見，對我來說都是無比寶貴的，在我曾經(jīng)想放棄，對自己不確定的時候，是他們給了我力量，讓我重新調(diào)整狀態(tài)。中加學(xué)校影響了我很多，也讓我收獲了在其他學(xué)校收獲不到的知識。畢業(yè)之際，很榮幸也很感激我走過的中加三年。

“Where there is a will there is a way.” I strongly believe it. My hobby is watching American TV series, which is an interesting way to learn words. I must figure out the meanings of any single unfamiliar word no matter how hard it is. Maybe the first time I could not recognize it, but I would recapture it for several times until I remember it. Curiosity, in fact, is a force that keeps me to accumulate new knowledge and experience. If you don’t have curiosity to try new thing, you won’t get anywhere. Finding your own drive is significant for you to study, enjoy and brave enough to face difficulties at any circumstance. Keep moving forward and never stop.

During studying period, many teachers gave me support, encouragement and

advice in critical moments, which paved a bright way for my future. When I

want to give up, their words remind me to embrace challenge bravely and

openly. Our school has influenced me a lot and enabled me to gain knowledge

that I could not gain in anyother schools. I am honored and grateful for the

three years I have spent in SCCSC.
