Mock AP Exams Prepare RDFIS Student for May Tests

The week of April 22–26 saw many RDF International School (RDFIS) students participate in mock Advanced Placement (AP) exams. 4月22日至26日這一周，不少瑞得福國際學(xué)校（RDFIS）同學(xué)參加了模擬大學(xué)預(yù)修（AP）考試。

High-stakes tests require mental concentration and discipline. To prepare for these exams, students in AP subjects—including AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP World History, AP English, AP Psychology, and AP Computer Science—have been sitting mock exams. These exams range between 2 and 4 hours. Through preparing in this way, our students will step into their final exams with the confidence and the grit required to reach their potential. AP Exams commence May 10th.

Mock examinations are an important step in the overall process. They let students experience first-hand the rigorous AP high-stakes tests.

模擬考試是整個(gè)過程中的重要一步，讓學(xué)生親身體驗(yàn)嚴(yán)格的高風(fēng)險(xiǎn)AP測試。

Students used practice materials from past tests and followed protocols and hours-long timing of the exams. Through taking mock exams, students can learn to pace themselves, understand their mental and physical needs, and how to endure the actual exams in May.

學(xué)生們反復(fù)練習(xí)，按照官方的考試規(guī)則，考試時(shí)間長達(dá)數(shù)小時(shí)。 通過模擬考試，學(xué)生可以學(xué)習(xí)自我調(diào)節(jié)，了解他們的心理和生理需求，以及如何對待5月份的正式考試。

The mock examinations also demonstrate a student’s overall mastery of AP course material.

The AP English Language and Composition students prepared all year for the upcoming AP exam, which tests their college-level knowledge of rhetorical and literary analysis. Students studied rhetorical terms and vocabulary. They learned to analyze and respond to advanced, college-level texts. They analyzed and discussed texts as a class, learning new perspectives and skills from each other.

Their knowledge will be tested during the AP exam this May. Students will answer multiple-choice questions from advanced texts and write three essays that showcase their comprehension and analysis skills. The exam is more than three hours long.

This past week students participated in a full-length mock exam in preparation for the official exam in May. Students showed great dedication and perseverance during the long exam, and many students stated after the exam that they felt "happy" and "proud" of their achievement in the AP English Language class this year.
