家長(zhǎng)咖啡之夜 Parent Coffee Nights

8周緊湊而密集的在線課程，最終以“家長(zhǎng)咖啡之夜” 在春假假期前圓滿結(jié)束。就像我們的教學(xué)一樣，咖啡會(huì)談在線上舉行得---非常成功。

家長(zhǎng)們使用線上學(xué)習(xí)的同一個(gè)數(shù)字平臺(tái)，在微軟的Teams聽取老師詳細(xì)解釋教學(xué)的最新動(dòng)態(tài)。班主任老師和學(xué)科老師輪流分享上一個(gè)和目前學(xué)習(xí)的單元內(nèi)容，以及他們?nèi)〉玫某晒兔鎸?duì)的挑戰(zhàn)。在學(xué)生的出勤率、提交高質(zhì)量功課和網(wǎng)課的參與度方面，我們一起討論和反思。

在教育工作上，我們總是想起“家長(zhǎng)是我們的合作伙伴”這句話。這正是我們的信念，當(dāng)教育者和家長(zhǎng)攜手合作的時(shí)候，就是孩子們?nèi)〉贸晒Φ淖畲髾C(jī)會(huì)。在會(huì)談期間，老師們深深了解到家長(zhǎng)在學(xué)生獲得優(yōu)質(zhì)學(xué)習(xí)體驗(yàn)方面扮演著重要的角色。TWIS的家長(zhǎng)們一直全方位參與其中，從確保孩子們按時(shí)上課、到把作業(yè)正確地上傳到ManageBac、再到充當(dāng)攝影師記錄孩子們的工作。

線上家長(zhǎng)咖啡之夜是向家長(zhǎng)們解釋校方教學(xué)責(zé)任的最佳機(jī)會(huì)，同時(shí)也可提升家校關(guān)系。我們相信，學(xué)校與家長(zhǎng)溝通越多，他們就越了解我們的使命和愿景是如何在學(xué)校日常的計(jì)劃和決策中實(shí)現(xiàn)的。衷心感謝我們的家長(zhǎng)在大家渡過人類歷史上的艱難歷程時(shí)，給予我們持續(xù)的支持和鼓勵(lì)。

Our eight weeks of intense online learning before the spring break culminated in a series of Parent Coffee Nights. Just like with our teaching and learning, the coffee meetings took place virtually and with huge success.

Using the same digital platform, parents logged in on Microsoft Teams to hear the comprehensive update given by teachers. Homeroom and subject teachers took turns talking about their previous and current units, as well as the successes they have encountered and the challenges they are still facing. Attendance, submission of quality work and engagement with the virtual learning were discussed and reflected on.

In education, we always evoke the phrase ‘parents as partners’ to emphasize our belief that children have the greatest chance of success when educators and parents work together.

During the meetings, teachers acknowledged the important role parents play to ensure that our students continue to receive high quality learning experiences. TWIS parents are involved all the way from making sure that children log in on time for their classes to uploading their homework in the right place on ManageBac; and acting as photographers to document the work of the children.

The virtual Parent Coffee Nights became an excellent venue for our school to show accountability but also to strengthen our two-way relationship with our parents. We believe that the more we communicate to our parents, the more they understand how our mission and vision is enacted in our everyday actions and decisions. We are truly grateful to our parents for their continued support and encouragement as we cross a difficult passage in the history of mankind.

What Do We Learn At TWIS?

TWIS提供一個(gè)以概念為導(dǎo)向、以探究為基礎(chǔ)的國際課程，讓學(xué)生探索廣泛的學(xué)科和技能以培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的好奇心、創(chuàng)造力和批判性思維，成為全面又獨(dú)立的終身學(xué)習(xí)者。

同時(shí)，我們通過對(duì)語言發(fā)展、文化認(rèn)同和全球公民的認(rèn)識(shí)，來培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的國際情懷。雖然英語是主要的授課語言，但維持學(xué)生的母語發(fā)展是促進(jìn)他們多語言學(xué)習(xí)、認(rèn)知發(fā)展和多國文化認(rèn)知的重要因素。

以下為大家重點(diǎn)介紹各學(xué)科在過去兩個(gè)月在線教學(xué)的內(nèi)容。

TWIS offers a concept-driven, inquiry-based international curriculum that allows students to explore a broad range of subjects and skills that will develop students' curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking to become well-rounded, independent lifelong learners.

We also promote international-mindedness through the understanding of language development, cultural identity and global citizenship. While English is adopted as the primary medium of instruction, the maintenance and development of students' first language are recognized as important factors to facilitate multilingualism, cognitive development and intercultural awareness.

Below we highlight a selection of what we have covered after two months of online learning across different disciplines.
