Founding Principal's Letter to Parents 深圳外國語龍崗國際部學(xué)

我們一直在努力提醒學(xué)生此時(shí)IB理念的重要性，希望我們學(xué)生將展現(xiàn)自己作為IB學(xué)生的素質(zhì)。

尊敬的各位家長(zhǎng),

自從上次在學(xué)校見面以來，過去的兩個(gè)月對(duì)于SLIS大家庭的每一名成員，都充滿挑戰(zhàn)。我校非常感謝各位家長(zhǎng)一直以來對(duì)學(xué)校教學(xué)工作的支持和理解。平心而論，讓孩子在家中快樂健康地學(xué)習(xí)與成長(zhǎng)，做到勞逸結(jié)合，其實(shí)并不容易。作為父親，我感同身受。中國人民在特殊時(shí)期所做的巨大努力和付出的犧牲使我印象深刻，我完全理解在這種情況下采取嚴(yán)格措施的必要性。

在繁忙的深圳，大家都能執(zhí)行嚴(yán)格的體溫檢查，消毒和保持社交距離等限制措施。作為一座科技城，深圳能通過快速檢測(cè)以及遍布于各處的QR碼來檢測(cè)每個(gè)人在地鐵，公交車，出租車上的健康動(dòng)態(tài)，包括前往超市等人員聚集地的健康檢測(cè)。中國社會(huì)一直是高效運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)的，現(xiàn)在人們的工作生活已經(jīng)逐漸恢復(fù)正常。這是特殊時(shí)期的正常做法，雖然需要謹(jǐn)慎，但相信大家肯定會(huì)努力工作，迎頭趕上。人們會(huì)對(duì)未來充滿信心。

我們熱切地等待著開學(xué)的消息。同時(shí)，我們十分理解只有做足準(zhǔn)備才可以開學(xué)。此外，我們將繼續(xù)推行網(wǎng)絡(luò)教學(xué)，我由衷欽佩身處世界各地的我校師生，在特殊時(shí)期能通過不同方式不間斷的教學(xué)。目前，許多國家關(guān)閉了學(xué)校并開展網(wǎng)絡(luò)學(xué)習(xí)。我們將繼續(xù)通過收到的反饋來調(diào)整學(xué)校的網(wǎng)絡(luò)學(xué)習(xí)計(jì)劃，并希望通過在周三開展藝術(shù)與體育學(xué)習(xí)來平衡學(xué)生德智體美勞發(fā)展。

我們一直在努力提醒學(xué)生此時(shí)IB理念的重要性，希望我們學(xué)生將展現(xiàn)自己作為IB學(xué)生的素質(zhì)。我們將繼續(xù)在每周一開展遠(yuǎn)程升旗和神秘學(xué)生的活動(dòng)。在這個(gè)特殊時(shí)期，無論在中國還是世界其它地方，IB學(xué)生所具備的素質(zhì)顯得尤為重要，如：關(guān)懷、有原則、平衡和開放的思想等。

我們期待著很快在學(xué)校與您再次見面。我們會(huì)與您時(shí)刻保持聯(lián)系，并更新我們將采取的安全防范措施。再次感謝您對(duì)我們學(xué)校的支持。

Dear Parents,

I am sure all of our school community have found this a challenging time in the last 2 months – since we last met in school – and we are very thankful for your support and understanding throughout. We appreciate it is not easy to keep your kids entertained, healthy and happy when they are continuously at home. As a father, I have also found this challenging at times.

I have been very impressed by the incredible efforts and sacrifices that have been made in China and I completely understand the need for strict measures in the circumstances.

It is hugely reassuring in Shenzhen, in a busy city, to see the temperature checks, sanitizer and social distancing measures in place. It was also reassuring to see Shenzhen fulfilling its reputation as a city of high technology through fast detection and advanced treatment and the ubiquitous QR code coming into its own to monitor everyone’s movements on the metro, bus, taxi and visit to every crowded building such as the supermarket. China has been highly efficient. Now things are opening again and gradually returning to normal. It is a normal that is tempered with caution and the need for care but people are certainly returning to hard work and catch up. There is a sense of optimism for the future again.

We await, keenly, to hear on school opening and understand this needs to be very carefully considered. In the meantime, we continue with e-learning, and I continue to be amazed by the work of our teachers and students, along with other educators tackling this situation around the world. Now many countries have schools closed and are learning online. We will continue to reflect and adapt the programme with the feedback we receive, and we have looked to make the program more holistic and balanced through introducing an arts and PE day on Wednesday.

We continually look to remind the students of the importance of IB philosophy at this time and the IB learner profile attributes being displayed by our students. We continue with our flag raising and secret student, as its very important to recognize the importance of being caring, principled, balanced and open minded, along with all of the other attributes during this special time in China and throughout the world.

We look forward to seeing you face to face in school again soon. We will certainly be contacting you when it is time to start and explaining the health and security measures we will put in place. Once again thanks for your support for our school.
