東華文澤線上教學(xué)第四周,老師和同學(xué)們都非常的努力,大家一起學(xué)習(xí)。
來到線上教學(xué)的第四周,我們想表揚(yáng)一下老師和同學(xué)們付出的努力。盡管周遭環(huán)境的不安穩(wěn),大家繼續(xù)盡心盡力在教學(xué)和學(xué)習(xí)的發(fā)展上。
We are now on our fourth week of e-learning and we would like to recognize the efforts that our educators and students are putting into making sure that teaching and learning continue to thrive in spite of the uncertainties happening around us.
值得分享給大家的是,學(xué)生并不是唯一在線學(xué)習(xí)的一群。TWIS有幾位老師都在線上進(jìn)修,繼續(xù)他們的教學(xué)專業(yè)發(fā)展,特別是關(guān)于IB課程的認(rèn)知和理解。
It is also worth sharing with the community that students are not the only ones engaged in online learning. Some of our teachers continue to be involved in professional development, specifically in developing their knowledge and understanding of the IB through digital platforms.
當(dāng)我們的圖書管理員Leonah老師不用在課堂跟學(xué)生導(dǎo)讀時,其實(shí)她正在與她的導(dǎo)師和同學(xué)們上課-課程為“IB圖書館員的角色”。
When Ms. Leonah is not engaged in guided reading with her classes, she is connecting with her facilitator and peers in her course, “The Role of the Librarian in the IB”
IB課程是非常嚴(yán)格又具有挑戰(zhàn)性的,但現(xiàn)在我對圖書館員在小學(xué)PYP、中學(xué)MYP和高中DP課程里各個方面的作用有了更深入的理解。通過這門課程,我覺得自己可以為TWIS學(xué)生的需求提供更好的支持。
The IB course is rigorous and challenging at times, but I feel that I have a greater understanding of the role of the librarian across spectrums of the PYP, MYP and DP. By taking this course I feel that I can better support the needs of our learning community at TWIS.

這并不是Leonah老師第一次在線學(xué)習(xí)的經(jīng)歷,但她覺得IB在線課程的難度可以和她攻讀碩士學(xué)位時的一些課程相媲美。她補(bǔ)充道:“學(xué)習(xí)平臺上有很多閱讀、留言板的互動、以及提交的專題研習(xí)或作業(yè)也非常多?!?/span>
This is not Ms. Leonah’s first online learning experience, but she feels that the IB online course is comparable to some of her coursework when she was working on her master’s degree. She adds, “There is quite a lot of reading, interaction through message boards and submission of projects or assignments through the learning platform.”
當(dāng)Jorge老師不是在帶領(lǐng)五到八年級學(xué)生做激烈的運(yùn)動鍛煉時,他正在參與IB 第一級別工作坊“MYP體育與健康教育(PHE)實(shí)踐課程”,了解有效的教學(xué)和評估策略。
When Mr. Jorge is not leading his Grade 5 to 8 students in highly intense full body work-out, he is participating in his IB category 1 workshop titled “Implementing the MYP Physical and Health Education (PHE) Curriculum” where he is exploring effective teaching, learning and assessment strategies.
我喜歡這個課程可以按照自己的節(jié)奏與同樣充滿熱誠的體育教師一起學(xué)習(xí)PHE課程的框架結(jié)構(gòu)和理念。
I like the fact that I can work at my own pace with equally passionate PE teachers in developing my understanding of the structures and principles of the PHE framework.

同時,我們的Ann校長也正在就修訂的IB課程標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和實(shí)踐框架進(jìn)行IB在線培訓(xùn)。作為IB教育者網(wǎng)絡(luò)的一員,Ann校長將采用并跟從新框架的發(fā)展模式來支持IB世界學(xué)校的發(fā)展。
Our principal, Ms. Ann, is currently engaged in an IB online orientation on the revised IB Programme standards and practices framework. Being a member of the IB Educator Network, Ms. Ann is expected to adopt and model the developmental approach of the new framework in supporting IB World schools.
我很欣賞這門課程按個人步伐學(xué)習(xí)的性質(zhì),而且這是最好的時機(jī),因?yàn)門WIS正處于一貫制IB候選學(xué)校資格的階段中。對于IB新標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和實(shí)踐方式有更好的認(rèn)識,將有助我們應(yīng)用在TWIS的課程管理上。
I appreciate the self-paced nature of the course, as well as the timing of the course as TWIS is in the middle of its IB continuum candidacy. Having a better understanding of the new standards and practices will help TWIS apply them according to its unique context.

最后,我們留意到越來越多家長積極參與我們的TWIS線上課程,從跟著孩子一起讀書到一起做運(yùn)動。我們衷心感謝您的全力支持,因?yàn)檫@給學(xué)生們意識到一個強(qiáng)烈的信號,就是他們的在線學(xué)習(xí)是非常重要的。雖然在線學(xué)習(xí)不能完全跟面對面授課相提并論,但我們在目前狀況下盡力做到最好,以確保我們學(xué)校社區(qū)每個人的健康和安全。
Finally, we are noticing that more and more parents are actively participating in our Virtual School - from reading with their children to performing physical exercises. We thank you for your full support as this sends a strong signal to our students that their online learning is important. Although online learning cannot completely measure up to face-to-face learning, we are all trying very hard to make the best of our current situation in order to ensure the health and safety of everyone in our school community.
