為了鼓勵(lì)家長(zhǎng)在家陪伴孩子堅(jiān)持每天閱讀,為其在家設(shè)計(jì)閱讀活動(dòng)提供思路和指導(dǎo),泰然國(guó)際部于2019年9月29日下午14:00-15:00組織了“文學(xué)日”專(zhuān)題講座活動(dòng)。 In order to encourage parents to accompany their children to read at home every day and provide ideas for parents to design reading activities at home, International Departm

講座剛開(kāi)始時(shí),Jessica(四年級(jí)的外教老師)就以圖片、數(shù)據(jù)等方式清晰地展現(xiàn)了每天堅(jiān)持讀書(shū)1分鐘、5分鐘和20分鐘的孩子1學(xué)年后在詞匯積累、學(xué)業(yè)表現(xiàn)上的巨大差異。由此可見(jiàn)堅(jiān)持閱讀的重要性!
Jessica, fourth-grade teacher, used pictures and data to clearly compare the vocabulary accumulation and academic performance of children who insisted on reading for 1 minute, 5 minutes and 20 minutes every day after a school year. So it's important to keep reading!
其后,主講人Terri Blair(國(guó)際部課程總顧問(wèn))向家長(zhǎng)介紹了美國(guó)全民閱讀專(zhuān)家小組在讀寫(xiě)能力培養(yǎng)指導(dǎo)上劃分的5個(gè)組成部分。

Lecturer Terri Blair, Curriculum Consultant of International Department, introduced the five components of the United States National Reading Panel identified of comprehensive literacy instruction.
1.Phonemic awareness (PA)—an awareness of and the ability to manipulate the individual sounds (phonemes) in spoken words;
2.Phonics (P)—the study and use of sound/spelling correspondences and syllable patterns to help students read written words;
3.Fluency (F)—reading text with sufficient speed, accuracy and expression to support comprehension;
4.Vocabulary (V)—the body of words and their meanings that students must understand to comprehend text; (the Literacy How reading model includes Morphology with Vocabulary);
5.Text comprehension (TC)— the interaction that happens between reader and text. More than
merely decoding words on a page, comprehension is the intentional thinking process that
occurs as we read — it’s what reading is all about!
Terri耐心地為家長(zhǎng)提供了很多日常生活中可切實(shí)操作的讀寫(xiě)訓(xùn)練,建議孩子從小事做起。
例如:書(shū)寫(xiě)購(gòu)物清單、邀請(qǐng)函、日記、博客等。
Terri has advised parents a lot of practical reading and writing activities in daily life. Start small, write shopping lists, invitations, diaries, blogs, etc.

展示按不同年級(jí)段分成4組 ,每組活動(dòng)還有學(xué)生跟老師搭配給家長(zhǎng)翻譯展示,棒棒噠!
Divide into 4 groups according to different grades. Jessica, Mary and Tim did a wonderful job creating hands-on activities for parents to engage in with their children at home to support and promote literacy. We also had students at each table who served as translators for the parents and staff.
