Dear Families,

親愛的各位家長，

One of my favorite poems in English is “The Pasture” by Robert Frost.

來自詩人羅伯特·弗羅斯特的詩篇《牧場》，是我最喜歡的英文詩歌之一。

I'm going out to clean the pasture spring;

I'll only stop to rake the leaves away

(And wait to watch the water clear, I may):

I sha'n't be gone long.—You come too.

I'm going out to fetch the little calf

That's standing by the mother. It's so young,

It totters when she licks it with her tongue.

I sha'n't be gone long.—You come too.

In this poem, the author says he is going to do some chores. He invites the reader to come with him. By the author’s words, we imagine the work, as if we are doing it already! The cleverness of this makes me smile.

I also love this sentence very much: “You come too.”

When time allows, I like to exercise with my children in the early morning. When I invite my sons, they grin from ear to ear! We enjoy running around the RDF track, doing pull-ups, and talking as we exercise. I am happy when I enjoy small moments like exercising (or shopping) with my children and say, “You come too.”

“Come” is a powerful word. It’s nice to be invited. Virtually everyone likes to “come too.” When we say “come” and offer a sincere invitation, we make others feel wanted. I hope we invite our children to “come too” as we do our activities and errands.

* ACADEMIC CELEBRATIONS DAY. On May 31, please join us for a day of celebrating project-based learning, coupled with fun, academic competitions. We are planning a wonderful time celebrating the students' efforts. Mathematical competitions, spelling competitions, geography games, business fair, World War II museum, technology fair, art exhibits, musical performances, and other competitions will be held throughout the school day! We encourage each student to have at least one parent join us to enjoy the outstanding academic work, programs and performances of our students! See schedule below.

* MATH CONTEST. G7–8 math students participated in the Gauss Math Competition. Tests are mailed in for scoring, and we will announce results when known. Thanks to Christina Xu for organizing the competition and to homeroom teachers for advertising and helping.
